Kim and Amanda are two teenagers. They travel to Paris and are very happy. But soon a tragedy takes place. The girls get kidnapped.
Kim's father Bryan is a retired CIA officer. He's a man with many talents. His goal is very clear. He wants to save the girls, especially his daughter.
Yes, I do like "Taken" very much. There is a great deal of action in this movie. Almost everything goes fast in my opinion. And I understand that because of Bryan. I can see the love he has for Kim. I believe that Bryan is driven by that love. I can see and feel his pain, but I think that his strength is more powerful than his pain. I'm talking about physical and mental strength here.
I've seen "Taken 2" and "Taken 3", but this movie is my favorite in the triology. Why? Because I like the story more. But yes, I'll watch the sequels again.
So what did I miss? Hm ... a tiny bit more romance and clarity about Amanda. But I didn't miss anything else.
I would recommend "Taken" to action fans, but not to people who are extremely sensitive.

Puck Ekstedt is a young university student. Rutger Hammar, Puck's university mentor, invites her to his cottage. The small house is located on a remote island. Puck has begun to develop warm feelings for Einar Bure, Rutger's good friend. Puck learns that Einar will also be present at the cottage. Therefore, Puck accepts Rutger's invitation.
Puck meets other people than Rutger and Einar on the island. One of these people is Marianne, Rutger's former fiancée. And before long, Puck discovers Marianne's dead body in the woods.
Einar contacts his friend Christer Wijk, a detective inspector. Christer and Puck try to solve the murder, but it's easier said than done.
I think that Swedish islands, in general, are tranquil. And in this movie I could see, feel and understand that the tranquility was interrupted after the murder. I like Puck, Einar and Christer. They are, in my eyes, a good trio that shows strength and tenacity.
I also liked the story's construction which, in my opinion, is well-thought-out. So what exactly did I miss? Hm ... maybe a bit more romance. But I would like to recommend this movie. And yes, someday I'll watch "Crimes of Passion: Death of a Loved One" again.

Marisa Ventura is a single mother for her son Ty. She also works as a maid at a luxury hotel in New York. Marisa also has a dream. She would like to be promoted to hotel management.
Christopher "Chris" Marshall is a senatorial candidate. He stays as a guest at the hotel where Marisa works. Christopher is single, but he has a dog called Rufus.
During a working day, Marisa tries on an expensive coat. The garment belongs to Caroline Lane, one of the hotel's rich guests. Chris sees Marisa in the coat, thinks that she is Caroline and wants to get to know her. But can Marisa keep lying to Chris?
Yes, I have to say that I really like this movie. I think that the story is interesting, a bit inspiring, romantic and quite funny sometimes. I will also, in all honesty, say that I see a glimpse of Cinderella in "Maid in Manhattan". I like Marisa's character development and strength. And yes, she is beautiful too. So what do I miss in this movie? Hm, maybe a flashback from Marisa's or Christopher's former times. A bit more romance and humor would also have been nice, at least if you ask me.
But all in all, I think that this movie is very good. I don't regret watching it and yes, you should give it an honest chance.
