Don't Worry Darling (2022)
It started off good and then....
This one was such a bummer for me. The set up was intriguing, they hooked you really well. What are they up to out there? Making nukes? Plotting world domination? Well, no.... That was the most disappointing plot twist I've seen in a movie in perhaps my entire life. What a letdown!
Florence Pugh absolutely kills it, as usual, but even she can't save this train wreck of a film. The first half had me so interested, the second half left me annoyed and disappointed. The writers really scrape the bottom of the barrel for this one. I definitely recommend people skip this movie and spend their time watching something a little more thought out....
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022)
Not worth your time.
For a production with such a big budget I had higher expectations. I really wanted to like this, honestly.
But the costumes look like something put together my a community college theater department and the sets are far more Game of Thrones than Middle Earth. Due to the fact that they couldn't get rights to some of Toklien's works, there are some inconsistencies to existing lore.
Also, what's with the elves having fades and other modern haircuts? Who okay-ed that??
If you like Toklien's novels or Jackson's films, I 10/10 recommend you don't waste your time on this.
Trust me. I watched it so you don't have to. Don't bother.
What Is a Woman? (2022)
Very insightful
No matter where you land on the political spectrum, I really recommend giving this a watch.
It's very eye opening about today's culture and some of the things that we may not want to look at.
Bel-Air (2022)
Absolute trash!
I didn't grow up on the original like everybody else did, so I thought I might enjoy it without the nostalgia glasses to skew my judgement.
Boy, was I wrong.
This show was enjoyable enough at first, but very very quickly takes a nose dive.
Do not waste your time. You'd be better off watching documentaries on how they make bottle caps.
Shut In (2022)
Gripping
Intense, chilling, and satisfying. The acting is superb. The symbolism is incredible. And the story is original and very well told. It'll keep you hooked until the very end.
Cowboy Bebop (2021)
If you like the anime, stay away from this thing.
An insulting rewrite of a classic anime. Characters are completely rewritten, from their backstories to their motives to their personalities. Every character is annoying or pathetic. It's very clearly just a money grab.
Swagger (2021)
Nothing but condescending pandering.
It feels like the show is completely comprised of things they THINK we want to see. It's embarrassing and patronizing. The acting leaves something to be desired and the plot lines are predictable every time. Don't waste your time.
Death in Paradise (2011)
Hot garbage.
AWFUL acting, TERRIBLE plot. 10/10 would NOT recommend.
