Land of Bad is an excellent movie. I don't think the reviews that I am seeing are doing it justice. The great majority of people who go to this picture, are not going to recognize the difference between a Blackhawk helicopter and a Huey helicopter, or some of the other errors that were made throughout the creation of this movie, by really shortsighted editing/rewrite staff. Just keeping in mind the acting, the plot, the cinematography and direction, I thought this movie deserved nine out of 10 stars. Specifically, stand out performances were given by Milo Ventimiglia, Liam Hemsworth, and Russell Crowe. I thought Milo stole every scene he was in, and it was as if he was an elite soldier in this movie. I believed him heartedly during every single moment. He's a bit of a chameleon and can handle pretty much anything he is given, but in this movie, he was just kick ass. Liam likewise was incredible and his performance was truly stellar. Very physically demanding roles for these two guys and they really pulled it off. Russell is pure gold in any thing he is in. Sadly, his overwhelming talent is a bit clouded by the fact that sometime as you are watching him throughout the scene, you can't keep straying into wondering just how much weight he has gained. Marlon Brando gained a ton of weight to during his career and I remember watching him and later movies thinking he's a bit of a parody of himself, when in retrospect his talent was still there. It was just sometimes shadowed by how his physical appearance had changed so much.
