Familiar territory for me. I'm not sure if this was done intentionally, but it's giving me a Mr. And Mrs. Smith/Oceans feel. The banter and the hostage situation for the first mention. I'm getting old because Brad and George are looking delicious in their 60s. I never cared for a huge age gap in my 20s and now in my 40s this gap aged men have kept themselves up that my interest has shifted. Got tired watching this because it did not keep my attention enough, that's rare for me. I didn't watch this in the cinema, instead I watched it at home free of charge, streaming wise.

Ryan Murphy usually starts out strong with an intriguing story angle and then something gets lost in the sauce. Niecey Nash would not have been my first choice for the lead detective and yet somehow it worked for me for awhile. It's understandable with everything she's dealing with that she'd spiral with the storyline, but it's unrealistic that she'd be allowed to continue working in her state. When "the incident" occurs the editing makes me believe she's dreaming because the dialogue and scenery when she meets the orderly looks like a dream sequence. When I see he is in fact real is what truly made the story spiral for me. The long drawn out scenes visiting her husband are not necessary. The head nurse makes those scenes very uncomfortable. Episodes 1-2 good, 3-4 okay, and 5-6 terrible. Theory they seem to be trying push at us is that the priest is the serial killer. The doctor met at the fire pit is my choice and I'd like the show to be wrapped up now. Not sure why they needed 10 episodes for this mostly filler show. Sadly the crime scenes are the most interesting part of this show and reminds me of what our human nature can succumb to : overindulgence and cruelty.
Felt in the mood for an oldie and chose the remake. This film is actually underrated in my opinion and I consider myself a bit of a critic. Amber Heard actually did a great job in this playing the sexy girlfriend to Penn Badgley. Her brewing acting ability is clearly seen here. Penn is believable in any character he's playing as if it's his real life. Now Dylan Walsh who I know well from Nip/Tuck played his part well. I could always see this in him, a creepy guy of sorts and not surprised to see him play this part. Sela Ward that I know best from The Fugitive played the desperate newly divorced mom role to perfection! It's no wonder she was enamoured by this man that she barely knew. Only a narcissist love bombs you and moves things along so fast!
