I might have to start putting some respect on Tubi's name if they keep this up. What an under-rated little gem 'Lowlifes' turned out to be.
The film starts with possibly the quickest opening scene/kill I've ever witnessed in a horror movie. At that point I was a little worried, because it felt lazy and uninspired (of course later on in the film it makes sense why it had to be done like that). My early fears were quickly put to rest though and from there on out it was a tonne of fun.
I've seen this twist on the genre done twice in the last year. This was definitely the better version of it. There are fun characters everywhere you look and some excellent gore - a scene involving someone's own eye made me audibly gasp. This was a good one. 7/10.

It's hard to think of a more boring setting for a movie than 1933 Oklahoma dessert. A movie would have to be truly brilliant in its execution to make that work. 'Hold Your Breath' was not the film to pull it off.
My goodness this film dragged on. No 95 minute runtime should ever feel this long. The problem is that the movie doesn't work in any form. It's never scary, so it can't work as a horror. It's never thrilling, so it doesn't work as a thriller. The characters aren't interesting, so drama is out the window. It's just left in this nothingness void that is painful to watch.
The final 10 minutes or so of the film are actually okay, but the damage is well and truly done by that point and there's no redeeming to be done. 3/10.

When the title of your movie is just the surname of the lead character, chances are your movie doesn't have much going for it. That proved to be true in the case of 'Goodrich'. This movie is completely lifeless.
The movie wants to be charming and funny, but it is neither. Michael Keaton is a very charismatic actor and Mila Kunis usually is too. You wouldn't know it here though. Both play these shells of characters that won't get a single rise out of you in over 100 minutes of runtime.
This movie was an absolute struggle to get through. I so badly wanted it to end but it just kept going and going. Painful stuff. 3/10.
