It does happen when a show has good writers who do there due diligence in researching a topic for an episode.
This episode focuses on an event in American and world wide history.
The smaller this world gets by being able to travel abroad the more death and disease will happen.
There was a cholera plague back in the summer of 1848 that hit Boston, Massachusetts. Via immigration ships from Europe. It was widespread and many had died before its end. It's part of my family history. It struck down my third great grandfather and third great grandmother. They were in their early twenties. They left behind an infant son. They lived in New Bedford, Massachusetts at the time of their deaths. My great-great grandfather was raised by his grandparents. Plagues and sickness wasn't a stranger to my family. I come from good Pilgrim stock. My ninth great grandfather, Capt. Standish survived that first winter in New England.
