This is a film that lingers in the mind. It is a really good film, with a unique take on the virgin birth story, with obvious religious overtones.
What I find refreshing about this film is the quality of the acting. Hollie Sullivan, who plays Emily, the lead, is amazing. She is incredibly believable and likeable as the lead, fully capturing the breadth of emotions a person might feel in such a circumstance as hers. The dynamics between the parents and Emily (Hollie) are remarkably spot on. The alcoholism of the mother, her overbearing fear and frustration with the situation, as well as the father's attempt to mediate between the two women in his life is also spot on. As a counselor and pastor, I found the dynamics to be painfully accurate at times.
Regardless of the conspiratorial aspects, which are really good and different, this is a well done film that is sadly underappreciated. I hope Hollie Sullivan does more in the future. Her resume is unfortunately brief, but if she did nothing else in her career, this is a phenomenal performance.

This is one of my all time favorite made for tv movies. It is such a cool story, and while there are some cliche moments, IMHO, they do not detract from the overall quality of the film.
Matthias Koeberlin is amazing in the lead. He is likeable and believable. Naike Rivelli is gorgeous and believable as well. Again, there are some die hard 2 and 3 type scenarios, but overall, it is an amazing 2 part series.
The plot of a time traveller is fascinating and the historical connections to early Christianity make for fascinating viewing.
Hats off to the Germans for this one. Well worth the time. I found it on YouTube and wish I could read the novels in English, but sadly, not available.

So, the acting is not a problem. I actually liked most of the actors. They were believable.
The sawtooth character is amazing. Very cool effects, and as a demon, chews up the scene almost every time he's on screen.
I rarely say this in a movie, especially in a horror film, but dark harvest would have benefitted from about another 10 minutes. A scene with the town council to provide some backstory would have added to the film narrative flow. A little more explanation of the teen relevance and the interactions with the sheriff would have made the story a little more understandable. His acting was good, but there was no context.
A rerelease with better editing would be worth a watch. Great when it works and narrative is not important, but it struggles mightily when narrative matters.
