The overall story is ok, the acting is good, a lot of the dialogue is interesting if you are interested in Scottish banter BUT the main character cries constantly (like 5+ times per episode) and is so mentally unstable that in my opinion, it is uncomfortable to watch. I get that he is haunted by demons etc but he clearly should not be a cop. When you cry constantly and scream over a dead body it's time to had in your credentials. We have so much true crime and crime drama that we know the emotion of the main character would have him sidelined in a heartbeat.
If they reduced the emotion by about 30% it would have been a much better show.
Thought season 2 would have toned it down a little bit but unfortunately no, he is still constantly crying.

I am up to episode 5 and I don't get the hate, this is such a fun show. Yes the START is very American, also very "bro" but keep watching. Remember there are more contestants that probably any other game show they can't all have significant air time? BUT they have people from every walk of life. Some people don't even get air time until the 3-4th episode. The American/bro stuff just gets airtime at the start because it gets a reaction from people (both good/bad). Give it a chance. Yeah it doesn't follow SG to the tee but there may have been safety considerations etc that made it too difficult/dangerous to do certain things.
Well USA channel have certainly picked themselves a winner with this one.
We are 2 episodes in and I am still not entirely sure what pieces fit where, but in a good way.
Story follows a deeply flawed and troubled vigilante hacker named Elliot, who gets pulled into a underground hacking group.
I feel like this is a very groundbreaking show as the style is very similar to an 80s-90s cult(?) movie.
I can not put my finger on exactly why, but that is the vibe I get from this show.
Its slightly artsy in cinematography, but not enough to alienate viewers.
I feel like this has the potential to be one of those top 1% shows (GOT, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead etc.)
I am very excited to see where they take it.
Anyway, I think everyone can enjoy this show.
But check it out for yourself. I think you will be glad you did.
