No More Baths (1998)
Just for Kids
In some ways this movie reminds me of some of the creations a child could make were he (she) given a camcorder. The acting was completely second-rate, but tolerable. The scenery was very simplistic, yet still believable. Even though the storyline was far-fetched, the movie was really cute and worth a peak.
I don't think adults would enjoy this movie very much. It's really just a nice little story for kids. It teaches a lesson and has fun with it. This is the kind of movie that you might see in a grade school religion class.
One word to describe this movie would be mediocre. But of course, mediocre (movies) do exceptional things all the time.
The Brooke Ellison Story (2004)
Touching
This was a very interesting TV movie/documentary about an eleven year old quadriplegic who beat outstanding odds with the help of her mother. The acting was so touching. My personal favorite part was a scene between the mother and the older daughter. They were on the telephone with each other and the words and tears were so realistic that I forgot I was just watching a movie. The two girls who played Brooke Ellison (younger Brooke and present Brooke) both did an amazing job. This movie made me so proud of the young girl with such and indomitable spirit. Life dealt her a bad hand but she didn't let her condition get the best of her. This movie was a great final tribute of Christopher Reeves.
Jack & Bobby (2004)
Well I like It.
I like this show a lot. Its a cute show about two brothers, and one of them grows up to be the President.
Unfortunately, it is a WB show, and the WB is all about sex appeal. The older of the brothers is very cute, so the teenage girl audience is taken care of. But there is no sexy chick for the guys to be watching the show for. Personally, I appreciate the fact that the girl that Jack (the cute older brother) is interested in is not drop dead gorgeous. Therefore, young teenage girls can realize that you don't have to be absolutely stunning for someone to like you.
Anyway, Christine Lahti and Logan Lermann both are amazing in their roles. Matthew Long is pretty good too, and I am sure that we will see improvement in his acting as he works on his craft. Other than that, there is an original storyline and well conceived dialouge.
I hope that this show lasts longer, but since it doesn't have the WB's usual criteria (re: hot teens) we'll have to wait and see.
Of Mice and Men (1992)
Great Adaptation
This is one of the rare cases in which the movie is actually better than the book it was based on. John Malkovich was excellent as Lenny. He was completely believable in his part. Gary Sinise also did a wonderful job as George. Aside from acting in the film, Gary Sinise also directed and produced. There is nothing bad about the acting in this movie that I can say. It was great.
The movie was very faithful to the book, but it gave a much different perspective on certain points, mainly Curley's wife. It was a very interesting adaptation, one that should not be missed. I would recommend this movie to everyone, whether they have read the book or not.
White Oleander (2002)
Outstanding Performances
If I had to choose one word to describe "White Oleander" it would be "Amazing". The performances in the movie were absolutely outstanding. (Particularly those of Alison Lohman and Michelle Phieffer) Alison Lohman's portrayel of Astrid was so moving. She is exactly how I pictured her from the book. She brought me to tears more than once. Patrick Fugit and Renee Zellweger also were great. The only thing I was not crazy about was the photography and camera angles. Other than that, outstanding acting, outstanding music, outstanding story and so much more. I would recommend this movie to people of all ages.

Chernobyl Heart (2003)
Heartbreaking
I first heard of this documentary while watching the Academy Awards. I was intrigued, but not enough so to look it up. When it aired on HBO I watched the whole thing and did not manage to hold back my tears. The defects on the people caused by the radiation were devastating to see. It made me wonder how I could ever envy anybody else's life, when compared to these people I have been so blessed. The direction in the movie was amazing, and style was unique. I would recommend this to everyone, but if you do watch it be prepared for some very haunting images that will be sure to stick with you for a long time.
