The Creator (2023)
Refreshingly original and thoughtful
What makes us human? Seems to be the central question in this brilliant and original film, that not only manages to create a believable (yet somewhat flawed) universe, but also touches present day international politics, the rise and threat of AI, love and forgiveness.
It was a blast that has brain and heart. Loved every second. A universe of great potential is established here. The sound mix in the cinema presentation was very well balanced, music and pacing is fantastic. Amazing special effects and great performances. Hope for great success and a followup on the story that just brought a little "budda AI" that holds potentially great learnings for humanity.
Aline (2020)
Brilliant!
I am not a Celine Dion fan as such, but I have seen enough material (concerts, interviews) to know that this movie is really well done. Especially the two leading characters that does an amazing job portraying Celine and her husband through time.
The movie dies not try to be a biography, and is BASED on Celine Dions life. It flirts with all the things that are publicly known, the love story, the huge family she grew up in, becoming an adult, becoming a star, becoming a mother, becoming a widow.
I found Valerie Lemercier to do a mesmerising job portraying Celine in different stages of her life, by really capturing the soul of her psychical presence.
Many critics seem to miss the point, that not all stars are crazy drug addicts, but that there is also more balanced people in the entertainment business, just doing what they love being supported by other good people. Thats not boring, thats inspiring.
Again, the viewer needs to accept, that this film is not a biopic, and just enjoy what is very tightly based on the highlights of a living stars career and life.
It never goes into intimate detail, but is a very enjoyable and well executed film. A love letter to a kind soul, and the power of good people.
The Green Mile (1999)
Technical Praise!
People! I Have just seen the remastered 2022 UHD disk release avaliable on the 22 Febuary 2022. It is nothing short of BREATHTAKING what Warner Bros has been able to do with the film. Its look MILES better than any other release, and was a whole new experience to watch in all this glory. Amazing detail and colorgrading, looking so natural. I wonder how the previous releases could end up looking so dull in comparison?
Sound did it justice as well with a airy, cinematic and well balanced sound mix with a little well choosen atmos action. For any fan of this top 10 film of all time, this release is a re-release benchmark for all other studios to aspire to! Incredible work pulled from that 35mm.
Congratulations Warner Bros on a job well done. Just WOW!
Retfærdighedens ryttere (2020)
Imagine hollywood trying to make this movie? They cant!
Riders of justice is a very original film, best characterised as a revenge movie. Thats where everything you think you know about it ends, and a genius, multi-layered piece of brilliant storytelling unfolds.
This movie has it all, and should be on everybody's shortlist seeking to up their film writing skills. Its a revenge movie, a social drama, a comedy with layer upon layer of fantastic, original characters, each entertaining in their own way.
Just see it, - its one of those era defining movies!
Cant wait to see that Anders Thomas Jensen has in the pipeline next... (no pressure, no pressure.....)
Far laver sovsen (1967)
Either a 2 or a 9 star film depending on the time you are in!
This movie is when viewed today is a wonderful cultural insight in men vs women, served with a smile. Underneath it all, it portraits the problems associated with how the outside world view changes.
In the historical context, I think it was funny and interesting.
As a comedy, viewed through 1967 classes, I dont think it has so much to offer, but as a cultural change film, it is a GEM 😁, and has a much more interesting subject matter than many other films from the period, that every family can relate to.
6 Underground (2019)
The most fun i have had in a long time!
Let me be clear. Usually i really dont like big pointless action movies and would never review such films....
...But this was a amazing and highly entertaining action COMEDY with extremely satisfying politically incorrect humor, Michael Bay'ed to the absolute max.... It is on such a high level, that the bar will not be reached by others for a very long time.
The whole mix makes for a very entertaining movie presented with a unique visual style, sound design and tempo. I find it very original, and would buy it on UHD disc any day.
I dont understand the low rating at all. It is not deserved in my book.
Mr. Church (2016)
There is great movies out there!
.... but you have to work hard to find them. This one never had a premiere in my country, and I had to import the Blu-ray from another region, as the movie was not available anywhere.
Mr. Church is a gem of a movie, that has rolled directly in on my top 20. it deserves much praise. Mr. Church has a wonderful story and amazing acting. Eddie Murphy is mindblowingly good in the role as mr. church, and should be nominated for an oscar for this. Fingers crossed that he will pick up many new roles to challenge his acting talent even more.
What happens in the movie industry these days? We so much need platforms for all these great movies that (thanks lord!) are still produced. Why this one was not marketed widely is a mystery to me.
So many people needs to see this movie of hope, loyalty and love.
Bravo! its a must see and a timeless movie, so it will have all chances to surface again from the pile of "more of the same" movies that is the movie industry these days.
The Morning Show (2019)
Smart, intelligent, funny
Epic and intelligent show. the way it studiy the way the world works in this day and age is brilliant. There will be people that gets it, and people that dont. But thank you for bringing this, in all its glory to us who do!
Great Show!
The Professor and the Madman (2019)
You have to fight for this!
Professor and the Madman is a amazing story delivered by extremely good actor performances. I think it is one of those "needle in a haystack full of S***" moments that we so rarely experience from hollywood.
I stumbled upon the title after watching "the beaver" by Jodie Foster with Mel Gibson in the leading role. Professor and the madman seemed to be available nowhere and has not had a cinema premiere in Denmark. I got hold of a Italian blu-ray, and boy am I glad I did!
The movie is a gem about unlikely friendships, forgiveness and how creativity and innovation can overcome the most impossible obstacles.
The making of the first dictionary is a fantastic story, the performances are though the roof ( I still cant decide on who did the best acting) , but the ending felt a bit truncated and abrupt in some way.
I hope this movie gets a revival and the reviews it rightfully deserves.
THANK YOU for this splendid film, that proves that there is still a little heart and brainpower left out there away from blockbuster-land.
The Beaver (2011)
Emotional, entertaining and original!
A movie that takes on the subject of depression in a very accessible and entertaining way, while doing a good job of portraying the impact it can have on a family, as well as portraying how hard it can be for the outsiders to the depressed to understand the condition. Mel Gibson does a fantastic job in the main role, with a perfect balance between humour and intensity.
Seen it three times, so it is a keeper!
Welcome to Marwen (2018)

RZ is delivering a wonderful and original piece of storytelling, that hopefully can inspire other filmmakers to seek new land.
