El Chicano (2018)
A Punisher rip off!
Okay, I went into this movie with high hopes. Watching the trailer reminded me of the Marvel character The Punisher and the Netflix hit series. The first hour of the movie was a snooze fest. It dragged on and took forever to develop the story. Once we get to some real action we find that the fight scenes although good in my opinion were not shot very well.
If you were going to see go to see Kate Del Castillo as a drug lord forget about it. The scene of here in the trailer is the extent of here active participation in this film. The acting in general was wooden and unconvincing and One other annoying aspect of this film was the the main character kept having flash backs to the same exact scene of his childhood over and over again. This is definitely a one time watch for me. If you go in not expecting much you may not be disappointed.
Attack Force (2006)
This film was his worst ever!
I am truly beginning to believe that Seagal is on a mission to see how crappy his films could become. This particular movie was a complete and utter waste of time to see.My first complaint was the cover of the DVD where they have doctored his pic and made him look slimmer and younger when in the film he looks like crap.He has his big pot belly and double chin going for him and the most miserable and bored look on his face.
The whole plot was ridiculous to begin with and drawn out way too long. The whole film was leading up to the finale where Seagal and his team had to take on a bunch of people under the influence of a top secret military chemical adrenaline enhancer. There was way too much useless dialogue and not to mention the ridiculous and constant dubbing of Seagals voice even in the middle of a statement. The dubbed voice sounded like a man with a frog in his throat and was quite comical.
The fight scenes in the film were horrible.Half the time when Seagal fought you could not even see what was going on.There would be tight shots of him flapping his arms at the camera and then the person flying through a wall or something. It was reminiscent of the old Kung Fu series on television. They used way too much slow motion for the fight scenes.
I believe this is Seagals worst film to date and I am glad I did not purchase this film or I would have been very upset since I am a huge fan of Seagal the Aikidoist. The action star is quickly fading away and seems to be getting worse with every performance.
Today You Die (2005)
More garbage from Seagal!
First off let me let you all know that I am a die hard Steven Seagal fan.I bought this movie and viewed it expecting something better than his last installments.
Whoever edited this movie should be shot and quartered. There was a scene where he was fighting some guys and he was wearing a brown leather trench, but when he was attacked and countered he was wearing what appeared to be a black suit with a blue shirt.
Another problem I have with this movie is that Steven Seagal did not do most of the fight scenes. There were a lot of shots from behind and you could see that his stand in was thinner and walked differently. Also I ran one particular fight scene in slow motion and caught the profile of the stand in.Terrible editing, direction, and acting of course.
If you are an Ultimate Fighting fan you will catch a glimpse of Randy (The natural) Cotourre getting his ass knocked out by Seagal which is highly unlikely in real life.
On top of that he had this so called psychic girl friend who was like 20 something.A very stupid and useless role in the movie since all she did was keep telling Seagal about her premonitions.
Also when he was in prison he was strutting around like it was his house and he did not even have the uniform all the other inmates had on.The guards were considerate enough to let Seagal strut around in his dark blue denim jacket.
The way he got caught by the cops was ridiculous. He drives this armoured truck around crashing into everything. He drives into an abandoned area and drags his captor out of the truck runs a distance and calls his girlfriend on a cell then passes out.
If you are a Stephen Seagal fan buy it.If you like him a bit and are curious rent it.But my opinion on this movie is not good I have seen better kids movies then this.Actually I think 'Into The Sun' was way better than this garbage. In my opinion if Steven Seagal is not willing to take a more active role in his fight scenes maybe he should call it quits. It makes me wonder if there is something physically wrong with him.
Transporter 2 (2005)
Dim witted and action packed
I must admit that I am a fan of the original Transporter. When I found out that there was going to be a sequel to it I put it on my must view list.Unfortunately after going to the opening I must say that I was very disappointed with it.
My main problem with it was some of the action sequences. There was one scene in particular that caught my eye.Our hero Jason Statham runs toward a moving truck.Lunges on to the hood and climbs up the windshield and up onto an overpass.Besides the impossibility of anyone ever pulling off such a stunt,It felt as if you could almost see the wire pulling him up.Although it was not visible the way he flew up that truck well you can almost imagine seeing the wire.
Also I was disappointed with the last fight scene. The villain is shown in one scene of the movie kicking several guys asses with his kendo stick. But when he fights Statham it's done on an out of control airplane which took away from the climatic fight scene in my opinion.
If you go in expecting a blockbuster you might be disappointed as I was.But if you don't mind some of the absurdities then you might enjoy it.
Sin City (2005)
Awesome action !
I have read some of the comments made by other users regarding this film. All of the feminist, and the sexist need to realize that this film is just entertainment. That being said I have never read one comic book on Sin City. What attracted me most to this movie was the star power and the fact that it was filmed in black and white. Not only does this film focus on the most immoral qualities of mankind. It also shows man at his basest and most savage.I thought that the action was cool and enjoyed the comedic voice overs.I thought Mickey Roarkes character was hilarious and entertaining.Bruce did to a child molester what any parent would love to do.I also found it refreshing that the prostitutes were not a bunch of scared victims. These women were tough and they defended their turf and each other. The depiction of all of the powerful people in politics, and law enforcement is also a reality that we live with every day.In some aspects on a more extreme level it mirrors life but,its a movie so sit back relax and enjoy the ride.
Belly of the Beast (2003)
An awesome film !!!
I have been a Seagal fan since he first appeared on theater screens all over America. I do admit that he has been making some horrible films lately but I dont just admire the films I admire the man and his accomplishments. I studied Aikido, Judo, Jujutsu, Jeet kune do and have been involved in the martial arts for the past 23 years. If you doubt Seagals accomplishments and skill in Aikido get the video "The Path Beyond All Thought" There are interviews there by some of his actual students and rare video footage of Seagal doing techniques and giving instruction. Regarding his weight one of the greatest Judo practitioners was huge master Moses Powell and that did not stop him from making his mark on the martial arts world. Belly of the beast is an awesome action packed film and I enjoyed it very much. If you are just looking for action its the perfect film to add to your library. If you watch it as a critic expect a bad time. You will be too busy criticizing it to enjoy it.
