What a way to play with my emotions. I really did not like the previous episode but this one shows you what's great about this series.
I see that many have already commented on Liza's performance. Rightfully so. I wish I believed that the industry will recognize her work but I highly doubt it, so I just hope she keeps finding work worthy of her talent.
Nevertheless, I wanted to talk about the amazing work of Jon Bernthal as well. It must be amazing to bring a different kind of energy to set. It reminds me of Nathaniel senior in Six Feet Under. Their presence is bittersweet because they're no longer there, and if you started watching this show because you connected with it through your own grief, you can't help but link his character to the emotions of that special person who's no longer here.
He's so damn charming (and handsome)

With such a great cast and how much we've invested in them, did we need so much screen time in the Faks? Was a new Fak even necessary? This is the first time I've had to take a break from any episode --- I didn't even take a break during the emotionally draining Thanksgiving episode!
And then I felt compelled to fast forward their scenes. Having such a short season and short episodes, is this the best use of screentime? I don't mind them in small doses, but this was way too much. Couldn't we have a more organic interaction between Gary and Ebraheim instead? We've barely seen them so far........

It has been addressed before how many Bros have taken over this site and downvote anything female-centric. That's a given. That's why I never trust the ratings for these type or movies or anything LGBT-centric. However, I notice in many reviews here that we also have now a Tiktokfication of reviews. People writing that nothing happens, that things are alluded but never shown...kids, you need to watch more real movies and put down your cellphones. This definitely shows that Netflix is not the right place for a well-made movie. Haynes has constantly shown his skills as a director and it does not disappoint with this one.
The tension beneath the surface is so powerful. It is a great display of directorial and acting skills.
