What passes for entertainment with you people? It is full of one-dimensional characters, plot holes, and overall, is simply put, a waste of time. This movie was the most melodramatic piece of fluff that I have ever seen! Underwritten and overacted. Seriously, if you've given this movie more than a '3', take a cold shower, drink some coffee and WAKE UP, and watch it again. Boy do I want my time back. I nearly got up and left a movie for the first time since I was dragged to see 'Curly Sue' at my sister's 8th birthday party over a decade ago. This movie isn't even so bad that it's good. This movie is so bad that it's a waste of time. Carey Elwes, you once had so much potential. Now I can't stand to even look at you. Go work at the Quick Mart man, you're done.
Brittany Murphy is a decent actress. This movie was beneath her in every single way. The script was weak, the characters were shallow and far from believable, and the plot (what little that there was of one) went absolutely nowhere. The other thing.... the scene where she jumped in the river... what was up with that? Was she trying to commit suicide? Wouldn't she have chosen something a little higher in a city like New York? She drops down maybe 15 feet. Gimmie a break. It made no sense.
This movie was a bore from beginning to end. When Brittany starts crying in one scene, I couldn't help but laugh. The female friend that I was with that picked this one elbowed me in the ribs, and for me, that was best part of the film: when the pain in my ribs took over from the pain in my eyes, namely, this movie. At least it was someone else's treat. My advice; see something else. ANYTHING ELSE.

I didn't find this movie overly funny, or moving. It just seemed as if I was presented with a short film, and here's a bunch of stuff that happened. It wasn't badly done for a short though, as I've seen far far worse. It would have been better if they had given a little more insight into the characters thereby making the story a little more effective by giving me something to care about. The camera work was great, and the actors did a fine job with what they had to work with. Not a bad effort, but I wouldn't add it to my list of favorites or anything.
