Our 17 mo. old daughter has Down syndrome and this movie really put into perspective how people with Down syndrome were treated years gone by. Fortunately, Jewel was strong enough to know that her daughter would have a productive life...and by God, she did! God bless all those who went against the system and succeeded. Steps to a brighter future is our goal!!!
Jack Lemmon has always been one of my favorite actors. Once again in this film, he shows that he was one of America's most gifted actors. Hank Azaria and the rest of the supporting cast brought a poignant story to television which cannot help but touch the hearts of all who watch it. The lessons of life which Morrie teaches are timeless. "Learn to love or you die" much like the Beatles "All You Need is Love." Gee, if only the world could get this message what a better place it could be. One of the ironies of life is that we often learn the most important virtues in it when we are at death's door. This film shares these virtues for its audience as well as a film can. A "classic" which I believe will be watched for generations.
