The fantastic actor, Boman Irani, takes the director's chair for this drama about a rocky father-son relationship. The film shows promises of being a father-son Meiyazhagan; if you like content about family dynamics, you're either gonna find it very relatable and will heap praises on it or simply see that it had promise but wasn't endearing.
This is still a solid first attempt by Director-Boman and I'm interested to see what he's got coming up. Actor-Boman, you know he's gonna hit it out the park, which he does. Avinash Tiwary as the son was good and so was the rest of the cast in whatever limited roles they were given. But that's about it.
There's a lot going on in the film and yet, it felt like there was scope to do so much more. I thought that the film didn't have the closure and the type of overwhelming ending that you'd expect stories like these to have.
Watch it for Boman and watch it if you have nothing else to watch....🤷♂️

While I enjoyed watching this 3 part show, this felt....very incomplete and wasn't what I expected it to be. The show is primarily from Sehwag and Shoaib Akthar's POV and the roles they played in the India's tour of Pakistan.
The cricket rivalry is more than the one tour and while there's some political context provided, it's not enough to do justice to the title of the doc. I understand that given the vast (cricketing) history between both these nations, it's not easy to make a documentary but just call it "2004 India tour of Pakistan" instead of making it sound like it's about the cricketing history. Plus, it's misleading this is mainly about the ICT making history in bilateral competition. If that's what you're going for, go all out telling the story from India's POV but they didn't do that either.
It's always fun to listen to people share stories and context you may not have known behind real life events, that was the only fun part about the show. But as much as I liked listening to everybody speak, it wasn't what was sold to me and it was too less. I mean, how do you make a documentary about India vs Pakistan cricket without the T20 final?
Watch it anyway, but go in without expectations and go in to listen to a handful of players talk about the context behind ONE series and you'll probably not be disappointed.

Ajith fans, if you're expecting a mass movie, this likely may not be for you. If you (and other neutral makkall) want your boi on the big screen, muyarchifying his best to tell a story (which we'll get to in a bit) like never before, you just might be in for a very (refreshingly) different portrayal of Ajith, especially if you know nothing about the original film. I, having watched the original, and almost predicted major portions of the screenplay, I was looking fwd to this just to find out if I was right or not. It's tough to explain what I thought of it without spoilers, but I'll try.
Pros - Ajith and Trisha, their chemistry in whatever limited good/bad (you'll see) time they have. A "romantic" storyline which most other mainstream Kollywood actors won't say yes to. Props to Magizh for having the courage to try this, and props to Ajith and Trisha for being OK with it. Ani-bro thankfully didn't go into his "Leoooooh-ooooOOOOOO" mode in the film. Background score was good. Cinematography - good but Azerbaijan felt pointless.
Cons - The "romance" storyline was actually just a "family drama" storyline instead. It was...OK until a certain point, there were some good twists and turns but Magizh woke up realized, oh wait, I need to give something "mass" to the hardcore fans. The film, for me, goes downhill from there, but thankfully that was only the final 20 mins. Bad way to tell a good climax IMO but to each their own.
Original 'Breakdown': No masala, straight to the point, 90-min film. No masala but you still care for the lead. Remake material? Not sure.
VidaaMuyarchi: Masala part - Could only care for half of this duration. Copied part - Surprisingly, I couldn't bring myself to care. I don't know why, but you couldn't feel the panic you felt in 'Breakdown', possibly because of what type of masala was added to this copied part....? Dunno.
"Copied part + Well written masala" should have given people more to care about, but instead, it was "Copied part + bold masala" which...didn't land right. Full marks for trying something bold, I keep saying bold even though it's merely doing something a big start won't say yes to (But not like this is Kathal - The Core)
Overall - One time watch with complaints. Not your typical Ajith film, so I'll give them extra marks for trying something 'different' with the plot.
