Longlegs (2024)
It nearly lived up to the hype
(Shortened summary in the bottom of the review)
(Longlegs) Does really great throughout and really uses the surrounding sounds in a manner that makes you more focused on what happens in the now and therefor makes you more likely to get these scares throughout without the Producers needing to overuse actual jump-scares to make you jump in your seat.
I also love that they chose to go the really slow route with the pacing so that the movie would become even more ominous and scary.
And it was also nice to see them using the Christianity horror theme in a very original way that I don´t really think that I´ve seen done before, But.... (Spoiler Alert) the Devil exist and the movie ruins itself in the last 10 or 15 minutes by instead of going the more "He was just insane & very delusional" way, they chose to go full out the Demon, Devil & possession way where dark mists of Satan´s origin is possessing people through voodoo dolls and what´s not & I really think that it ruined the movie in the end.
(8/10)
Shortened summary: (Longlegs is a mostly great slow paced horror thriller that takes you on a dark journey following this FBI Agent that is trying to find out who is behind these ritualistic and creepy family murders.
Outcast: The Common Good (2017)
Its getting better!!
(Shortened summary in the bottom of the review)
Episode 5 right here gives the show an even darker atmosphere and even crazier scenes than ever before and therefor takes the show right back on track after an lackluster episode 4, now with the dark power and world which Sydney is from getting more desperate and therefor not caring that people sees its existence, with it trying to take over the Sheriff at the town meeting.
(10/10) Really great episode!!!
Shortened summary: Ep 5 quickly takes the show back on track with some really dark moments and really dark and action packed moments all the way through.
Outcast: Fireflies (2017)
Kirkman & Co just made the best episode yet!!! "(11/10) (Special Rating)"
(Shortened summary in the bottom of the review)
6th episode manages to take the show to even new heights with this so phenomenally executed episode of total greatness with the some of the best story build and character build yet and with the stakes at an all time high, with Kyle getting close to death last episode and now being locked up and trying to escape and his family and friends believing he is dead, we learn all about that in this episode.
(11/10)
Shortened summary: This episode manages to take the show to the greatest heights yet and with the stakes at its highest, Kirkman n Co manages to do a phenomenal job right here!!
Outcast: Not My Job to Judge (2017)
Great episode!
(Shortened summary in the bottom of the review)
With great story telling and so much interesting new stuff that we learn about in this episode, it manages to be one of the more interesting episodes and therefor feeling really quick, which is just fantastic that it still holds up with such a hard story to tell as this comic book horror story.
Cant wait to see whats coming and get answers for who these Demon creatures really are and where they come from and what they need Kyle for and why they cant use other Outcasts with his exact abilities.
(10/10)
Shortened summary: Kyle is getting closer and closer to uncover the truth of all these supernatural events and creatures.
Outcast: The One I'd Be Waiting For (2017)
Great start, but got dragged out too much.
(Shortened summary in the bottom of the review)
The first 30 minutes of this episode was really well sat up with much action and amazing plot and pace, with Kyle learning that everything which is happening in Rome right now happened 30 years ago too and back there his Dad was in his exact shoes.
But the episode got a bit too slow and dragged out in the last 15 minutes, but still such a great episode even after those minutes, which also had interesting story but in a too slow format.
(8/10)
Shortened summary: Kyle is slowly uncovering all the dark secrets which the town holds and that his Father was in this exact situation 30 years ago.
Outcast: The Day After That (2017)
Great looking season already!!
Really interesting and intense already and with really high stakes, its greater than i even could have imagined that the second season would be and so many new twists are getting explored and slowly uncovered already and Sydney actually having human feelings!! Like it looks like that he actually slowly was beginning to see himself as a father figure for that orange haired kid.
It looks like they want to build so much more depth and richness into the already really well build characters that we already know and im all here for it.
(10/10) Certainly the best horror tv-show that i have ever seen!!!!
Outcast: Bad Penny (2017)
Strong start to the second season!!
The first episode of the second season manages to start off just as interesting and with just as much potential like the first episode in season 1 did and really just sets this season up for great success already from the get go, so i strongly hope that it will keep this up and if it does that, then this will might become one of my favorite tv-shows of all time if not my "Actual Favorite" tv-show.
Also from what it looks like, we maybe in for a cult themed season which if done right will actually fit the show really great and hold it off from becoming repetitive!!
(10/10) Cant wait to get on watching the rest of the episodes!!
Outcast: Close to Home (2016)
Great episode which never feels slow
(Shortened summary in the bottom of the review)
This episode definitely sets the finale up perfect with such great story throughout and some of the best acting that the season have had yet and the episode certainly keeps you up and about with all the great moments that the episode has. Kyle certainly feels more interesting as the protagonist than ever before also with everything we learn from each episode.
You would think that this kind of concept is quite weird, but this 1st season is very very well executed and set up, which makes it all the worth while.
The way that they edit the shots of people here and there is also very well done and sets off this very creepy horror feeling which is perfect for this kind of show.
It really gets you intrigued this show!!
(10/10)
Outcast: This Little Light (2016)
They did the finale god damn well!!
(Shortened summary in the bottom of the review)
It begins from where last episode ended, so already quite intense and just goes right into this final episode with such great intensity building right up till the final moments of the episode where we gets to see confrontations of all kinds and gets some questions answered as well, like where are these so called "Demons" from and what is that they exactly want with Kyle?
Cant wait to get going with season 2!!!
(11/10)
Shortened summary: The S1 Finale starts out great going at it from where last episode ended and just keeps on adding to it right until the final moments where it really gets intense....
Outcast: The Road Before Us (2016)
What an episode!!!
(Shortened summary in the bottom of the review)
Episode 5 really picks up the action department with so much more gripping horror and deeper story into the relationship between Kyle and his ex and what really happened back in the day, what the truth really is.
Just such a great tempo and so many intriguing new questions to be answered that be get told in this episode and i absolutely love how they did it!!
Definitely still worth watching because its nearly just begun.
(10/10) Fantastic Episode!!!!!
Shortened summary: Tempo is picking up and way more horror & action is on its ready in this fantastic 5th episode of (Outcast)
Outcast: A Wrath Unseen (2016)
Another great standalone episode!!
(Shortened summary in the bottom of the review)
This episode 4 does great in replicating the 3rd episodes success by following the same format much throughout the episode and introducing us to new characters which all as for the moment are actually quite interesting, so i gotta say this was quite a good episode just like last one!!
I just cant wait to see the rest of the episodes and where its headed towards and how higher it can get in quality of story.
(9/10)
Shortened summary: Ep4 recreates the success of last episode in doing the same format and introducing us to new & ok interesting characters.
Outcast: All Alone Now (2016)
The writers clearly are very well versed in the horror genre!!
(Shortened summary in the bottom of the review)
Such a great 3rd episode which reminds me really much of the way many of Supernatural season 1´s episodes where sat up in this anthology reminding way where the leads goes out on a completely new mission every episode and i can tell you that (Outcast) did very well in doing such in this episode!!
The acting is also really fitting in how the show is sat up and for what genre it goes into.
(9/10)
Shortened summary: In (Supernatural) fashion this episode gives a very well made anthology like episode going on a road trip to help the priest with his Exorcist job.
Knightfall (2017)
Fantastic show! "(11/10) (Special Rating)"
(Shortened summary in the bottom of the review)
(Knightfall) is one hell of an epic Knight Templars tale following the fictive Templar named Landry throughout all of his life from when he was a kid and to when King Philip massacred all the Knights Templars in France the year 1307.
It goes really deep into the fictive part and chooses to only be more loosely based on the true events and they definitely did a great job in doing that, giving us such an epic and well written story taking place in the Middle Ages!!
(11/10)
Shortened summary: Epic show taking place in the Middle Age following a fictional version of the events leading up to the execution of the Knights Templars in the year of 1307.
Black Sails (2014)
One of the best shows of the last 10 years!!
(Shortened summary in the bottom of the review)
(Black Sails) is a spectacular Pirates tale about the most beloved and legendary fictional Pirate King and Captain going by the name of Long John Silver and the Pirate Captain Flint where we get a deep look into everything of what happened before the popular novel of "Treasure Island" and it certainly does phenomenally in doing that, giving some of the best showings of Pirates in a live-action show/movie with only the likes of the "Pirates of The Caribbean" movies have been able to do better.
All in all a magnificent tv-show with fantastic acting and well written episodes all the way through and some fantastic set pieces and well done editing that you just have to watch if you love Pirates or something dramatic and adventures!!
(9.7/10)
Shortened summary: An dramatic, adventures and really well told original fictional story of the Pirate King Long John Silver and his close ally and friend Captain Flint.
Black Sails: XXXVIII. (2017)
Lovely ending!
(Shortened summary in the bottom of the review)
Such an emotional finale with such great writing and phenomenal acting from the actors playing Silver and Flint in showing these hardcore raw emotions and how that maybe in a different timeline they could have ruled the Caribbean sea together, but that fate chose else in this scenario.
It really isn´t a happy ending as everyone is saying, its actually the exact opposite.
(10/10) Gave us the best moments between Silver and Flint in this episode!!
Shortened summary: As we all know, great names of great stories never really comes to have a happy ending whatsoever and the same thing can be said in this case with this fantastic final episode giving us one hell of an emotional ride.
Black Sails: XXVI. (2016)
Really great episode!
(Shortened summary in the bottom of the review)
Such an intense episode with such great buildup and Vane n Anne trying to free save Jack from certain death, which ends out being a messy affair and not everyone makes it out.
Just such a great episode and storyline which makes it that i just cant wait to watch the next episodes and finish this fantastic season of great television!!!
(10/10) Really gripping and intense episode overall!!!
Shortened summary: While Flint is trying to work something out back on the ship, Vane & Anne are now trying to rescue Jack from an exchange with the Spanish, which would mean him certain death.
Black Sails: XXIV. (2016)
Great episode
(Shortened summary in the bottom of the review)
Really interesting way the show is going and even more interesting to see where it all will end up at the end with all these powerhouses/great Pirate names which are clashing because of their differences about the future of Pirates and how they all should live, with Flint wanting them to fight for Nassau, while Blackbeard on the other hand doesn´t want them to risk their lives for an island filled with people who turned their backs to the Pirates.
(10/10)
Shortened summary: Flint and Blackbeard clashes over their differences for where they want to lead all these Pirates and if to risk their lives for Nassau or not....
Black Sails: XXXVI. (2017)
Quite alright
(Shortened summary in the bottom of the review)
For filler it really does its job at getting you through and ready for the two final episodes, but with some few mistakes which had me feeling a little mad in the way that this could have been such a better episode if they just didn´t force this side-plot upon us again about Max and Anne, the maybe worst thing about the show and the only thing from the show which has felt forced since that relationship began.
(8/10)
Shortened summary: This filler episode does good enough in getting you through it with your head high enough to keep going and get to the next episode, but thats all it really does and nothing more.
Black Sails: XXXVII. (2017)
Brilliant piece of television!! "(11/10) (Special Rating)"
(Shortened summary in the bottom of the review)
They really managed to capture the essence of what true friendship really is and how you make it into something such magnificent as this really complex episode about feelings, about wrong doings and about what could have been, does perfectly.
It really is clear to me that even though Flint and Silver never comes clear about it, deep down they both love each other to a way higher regard than they do to any other, to a even higher regard than Thomas and Madi. It is really one of the greatest television relationships ever with all this complexity and how deep it really goes.
(11/10) Best episode of the show by a mile!!!
Shortened summary: The end is near and those who where friends are now enemies and only one side can end out victorious if even that is possible in this battle for the future of the Pirate world, Nassau and all of its people.
The Wolfman (2010)
A well made Werewolf movie
(Shortened summary in the bottom of the review)
A great surprise this movie really was when i first saw it and now again, with all its 60's horror style atmosphere and its well recruited cast of such great British actors and good looking Werewolf CGI costumes for the year it was made.
It really is impressive how well they did in making this Werewolf movie, but that doesn´t mean that it is perfect, because it did have some few mistakes that i just couldn´t overlook, the way that they didn´t go deeper into the Son and Fathers relationship so that we the viewers could understand a little better why that the Father (Anthony Hopkins) where such an as#hole towards his Son in everyway.
But other than that its actually a great enough and really interesting movie, which is way better than what people make it out to be, so you should definitely give it a try if you haven´t already so you can rate it yourself instead of letting all these over harsh critics scaring you away.
(8/10)
Shortened summary: A great Werewolf movie with an really interesting 60´s horror movie feeling to it and well made Werewolf CGI costumes which makes it way more epic, even though it is a little dem when it comes to explaining things when it comes to the backstory.
Ted (2012)
Fun watch!
(Shortened summary in the bottom of the review)
(Ted) is a fun watch giving a blend of Ace Ventura, The Mask and Coming to America vibes, but made 20 or something years later, which i think it does a ok job at, giving us something funny and stu#id where you can turn your brain completely off and have a fun time like you could with so many 80´s and 90´s comedies!!
Though it could feel a little dull in the first 50 minutes of the movie, where i think the last chapter fully saved the movie making it a one time worth while watch.
(7/10)
Shortened summary: Fun original movie experience that gives you the 80´s comedy movie vibes which keeps you entertained enough to make it a good enough watch.
Black Sails: XXXV. (2017)
One of the best episodes yet!! "(11/10) (Special Rating)"
(Shortened summary in the bottom of the review)
This is definitely one of the best filler episodes i have ever seen giving us such an extremely exciting one hour watch about drama and whats not in this slow paced but in a very fantastic way episode, having me intrigued all the way through in Jack´s mission to get Eleanor´s wealthy Grandparent to help with a war effort against the governor to retake Nassau and revenge Eleanor´s death.
Meanwhile we back at the island haven for freed slaves sees Mr. Silver cope with what he believes is the loss of his love Madi and how we see Flint trying to help Silver as best as he can.
(11/10)
Shortened summary: Perfectly made slow paced filler episode which follows to storylines, one where we follow Jack trying to gain the best helping hand possible in retaking Nassau and the other one where we follow Silver coping with the loss of his lover.
Black Sails: XXIX. (2017)
Good start to the season!!
(Shortened summary in the bottom of the review)
The season starts out good with the opening minutes giving us a look at the aftermath of last seasons great battle, which now that the Pirates won that war, indicates that they now are ready to take back Nassau with the help of Blackbeard now on their side to revenge his dead friend Vane.
Definitely is looking to be great 4th season with a lot of action and bloody battles to be fought out at Nassau.
(9/10)
Shortened summary: With the Pirates winning last seasons great battle, they are now getting ready to retake Nassau and secure the future for the town of Port Royal.
Black Sails: XXX. (2017)
This is getting epic!
(Shortened summary in the bottom of the review)
This season is quickly becoming really great now with this second episode doing such a great job as well in all this follow up and aftermath of everything which came down in the 3rd seasons finale.
It will be really exciting to see what happens to Silver now that he presumably is being taken somewhere for ransom.
(10/10)
Shortened summary: Everything is going sideways after the victory of the last season with the British fending off the Pirates now back at Nassau which results in Silver, Flint and all the others being scattered in the waters and around the island!!
Black Sails: XXXIV. (2017)
The end is nearing
(Shortened summary in the bottom of the review)
You can really feel that the show is nearing its end id say, in the way they not so slowly are killing all the main characters and all the intensity building up around it. I wont say that it is a bad thing whatsoever, but i have have to say that i would have wanted it to be a little more spread out to maybe one or 2 more seasons instead of the latter episodes of season 4 being blood and action overload.
But this is only the 5th last, so maybe it will become a little more focused before the final episode.
(9/10)
Shortened summary: All the scattered groups of the known crew & Pirates of the show are trying to survive & get out alive after that Spain now have arrived at Nassau & wrecking havoc.
