Doctor Who: Spyfall: Part Two (2020)
I almost enjoyed it
The spyfall saga almost feels like a real Doctor Who episode. If it wasn't for all the Chibnall's over the top pseudo correctness, and Jodie's annoying and rambling delivery of a Doctor. Sasha's performance is the best, he would have been such a great actor to play the Doctor! But at the end serves mostly to evidence how big of a miss are most of Chibnall's choices for the show. This is the beginning of the Timeless Child arc, for now intriguing, but those who watched till the end of the season know now how disappointing this was in retrospective.
Doctor Who: It Takes You Away (2018)
Barely a 6, and yet the best episode of the season.
This is a season full of 3,4 or 5 rated episodes. This one is a 6 so you can say is the best of the season. But serves mostly to put on perspective how bad Chibnall's direction is. I'm afraid he may have killed The Doctor for good. Jodi is ok, but an actor is only as good as the material she's given. It's all very sad.
Transformers: The Last Knight (2017)
My summary was originally " W T F " with exclamation points, but IMDb suggested an edit...
Long has Ed Wood been regarded as the worst director in cinema history. I submit Michael Bay for your consideration to overtake the title. At least, Ed Wood was not profit driven, at least he regarded his work as art, and it was passion for cinema what got him into doing those hilarious films in the 1950s. Not Michael Bay, his motivation is obviously dollar signs. There would be no other justification to his insistence on destroying our childhood memories on the transformers franchise. Or am I being unfair, and maybe he really does need the money?.
If he had any consideration for the craft, he would retire immediately and definitely from filmmaking and recluse himself somewhere far from Hollywood. This film is the best example of all that's wrong with his movies: Lazy directorial style, surrounding himself with a cheap production team and working with a 2 cents worth of a script. Generic characters with no depth whatsoever, a ludicrous unintelligible plot, vomit inducing action shots and the corniest of finales.
1/10 is the lowest score on IMDb, but they should allow for zero on very special cases.
Left Behind (2014)
Worst movie i've ever watched
Mea culpa... had I known this film is about the biblical rapture, had I done my homework and researched a bit about it, I would have saved some 90 minutes of my life...
I should have also researched a bit on Vic Armstrong as director... his most notable contribution to cinema history was being Harrison Ford's stunt on Indiana Jones films... and this movie demonstrates this is not curriculum enough to be considered an director.. I'm surprised anyone would finance him for this film.
first of all, the subject of the film is idiotic.. I can see how it can appeal to those fanatic judgemental christians who are convinced they are the only ones right on their believes.. the film even goes as far as insulting other religions suggesting only the christians are worthy of salvation...
But all that religious non-sense is not the worst about this film... how about the terrible acting, from all, including Nick Cage... simply terrible, amateur... worse than school plays ...
the flow of the film is awful... it's 40 minutes before we see anything interesting happening.. by then I'm sure most of the viewers had already disappeared ...
and the music!!!.. . it's a torture!!!
I watched the film completely, because that's what I do... hoping there was something redeeming about it at any point before the end credits... but this wasn't the case here..
This movie gets a 1 out 10 ... because there's no option to vote negative...
The Machine (2013)
The music!
The musical score! This electronic 80s synth sound they chose for the film, it makes me feel I'm watching one of the classic cult sci-fi films we grew up loving. It feels like watching Alien, Blade Runner or Terminator for the first time. But it also has beautiful modern visual effects and make up. Nothing exaggerated as it's the tendency these days, but just the right amount of FX and very believable. Caity Lotz was wonderful. If I was to criticize any aspect of the film would be the storyline, which is not very original and is a seriously predictive. Yet, with Caity's performance, this wonderful musical score and these beautiful visual fx, I'm sure some years from now we will call this film a cult classic.
El lado oscuro del corazón (1992)
Best movie I've ever seen
It has it all: it has poetry, comedy, music, a moving plot, surrealism, some magic, a moral and more.
It is one of those movies you'll be talking about for a long time.
