Dove Cameron is currently known as a pop singer with an impressive voice, but before she had a professional recording contract, she was an actress. She got her start in local theater productions, so it makes perfect sense that Cameron would both act and sing professionally. In addition to her work in TV, movies, and on music, Cameron has also continued to perform on stage.

Camerons big break, like many young actors before her, came courtesy of the Disney Channel. Not only did she star in her own series there as a teenager, but she also guest-starred in other projects for the network. Thanks to Disney, her career blossomed and shes earned fans who will likely continue to grow with her and follow her work on more mature projects. Disney favorite, Dove Cameron, has had a few roles in Marvel movies, whether providing a voice over for an animated character or her minor role in Agents of Shield, back when it was thought to be part of the MCU, but that doesn't mean she wouldn't be happy to take on another Marvel role in the future if one was to be offered to her. While once a favorite to play Sabrina Spellman in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on Netflix, Cameron has had plenty of success in the likes of Disney's Descendants, and is currently filming The CW's Powerpuff Girls live action series, so she is certainly no stranger to the world of comic book adaptations. Now Disney has made the splashiest entrance into the streaming landscape with Disney+. The service’s library features Disney live-action and animated classics, and content from Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, and National Geographic.

Disney+ is more than just the greatest hits from the House of Mouse. The service is set to roll out original feature films, TV shows, and documentaries. For instance, more episodes of The Clone Wars season 7 are set to arrive this month.

With a line-up that includes Runaways, The Gifted and more, it makes sense that Marvel would debut the long-awaited return of Daredevil in NYC just blocks from the Man Without Fear’s stomping ground of Hell’s Kitchen and that’s exactly what’s going down next month at New York Comic Con.

While we don’t have a launch date yet for the third season of the Charlie Cox-led Netflix series, Daredevil will be part of Marvel’s near takeover of the Big Apple confab with an appearance at Madison Square Garden that first weekend of October, I’ve learned.

We’re going to be waiting for almost a year to find out what happened to the Marvel Cinematic Universe following Thanos’s snap, but for those craving the brand’s particular take on character-oriented superhero fun, a new franchise just launched courtesy of Disney Xd. “Marvel Rising: Initiation” features a majority-female line-up with a story that begins with the wrongfully accused Ghost-Spider defying the authorities, and fellow heroes Squirrel Girl and Ms. Marvel taking it upon themselves to bring her to justice.

Debuting initially as six shorts, now streaming on YouTube, “Initiation” will be followed up by “Secret Warriors,” a feature-length adventure this fall featuring the same characters, voiced by Dove Cameron, Milana Vayntrub, Kathreen Khavari, Chloe Bennet, Kim Raver, Kamil McFadden, and Steven Weber, among others.

Things got a bit hairy when TVLine invited Chloe Bennet to talk about Season 6 of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which just started filming but won’t premiere until next summer.

Bennet stopped by TVLine’s Comic-Con video suite with Marvel Rising co-star Kamil McFadden to talk about their animated incarnations of a young Quake and Patriot. In the upcoming Disney Xd project, teenage Quake is “more spunky,” Bennet says, offering a fun “hybrid” of the Skye/Daisy/Quakes we have come to know over the years on S.H.I.E.L.D.

Marvel has released for first trailer for their new animated series of shorts for Disney Xd called Marvel Rising: Initiation. The series will put the focus on the next generation of Marvel heroes.

The story centers around Gwen Stacy a.k.a. Ghost-Spider (Dove Cameron), who is ends up being framed for her friend's murder. She is eventually tracked down by a number of other heroes that include Kamala Khan a.k.a. Ms. Marvel (Kathleen Khavari), Doreen Green a.k.a Squirrel Girl (Milana Vayntrub), Rayshaun Lucas a.k.a. Patriot (Kamil McFadden), and Daisy Johnson a.k.a. Quake (Chloe Bennet).

This is all leading up to a feature-length film called Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors, which will debut later this year.

Earlier this month, Marvel unveiled an intriguing new project called Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors, an animated movie that will feature a bunch of up-and-coming superheroes like Ms. Marvel, Squirrel Girl and Miss America. One of the more interesting was the inclusion of Ghost Spider, a renamed take on Spider-Gwen, the alternate version of Peter Parker’s girlfriend Gwen Stacy who has spider-like powers, too.

Now, it looks as if this might just be the start of some big plans for the character, as it’s come to light that Marvel has registered six new trademarks for Ghost Spider. Despite the title of her comic series being Spider-Gwen, the character is known as Spider-Woman within the Mu. No doubt the name change to Ghost Spider is a way to differentiate her from Jessica Drew’s Spider-Woman.

Bleeding Cool, who first spotted the trademarks, also noted that there’s no filing for a comic book series.
