On May 30, digital media company Brat TV released the first episode of the second season of College Years, a spin-off of the Chicken Girls franchise. Since its first episode hit YouTube in 2017, Chicken Girls has become Brat’s biggest hit, growing into a multimedia brand that encompasses books, podcasts, and much more.
College Years, which arrived last year, dives into the collegiate lives of two characters who first appeared within Chicken Girls‘ high school milieu: Birdie (played by Mads Lewis) and Rooney (Indiana Massara). The second season of College Years brings new dimensions to those characters by introducing a fresh series of trials, friendships, and love interests.
But College Years is more than a mere spinoff. It’s Brat’s attempt to follow its target audience. Through its signature franchise, Brat has welcomed a devout fan base of Gen Z consumers. As those viewers grow up, adopt different attitudes, and seek new experiences,...

(Los Angeles, CA) The dystopian science-fiction audio drama Broken Road, created by Fear The Walking Dead writer Jacob Pinion and Hero Mode producer E.J. Kavounas, has published its entire ten-episode first season, following a veteran struggling with obsolete military implants who teams up with a defiant farmer and her daughter against a corrupt, morally unhinged lawman. The first season has reached over 100K downloads.
Broken Road offers something for everyone: action-packed fight scenes, quiet moments of personal struggle, romantic tension, and human connection. At its core, it is a story of community-based resilience and resourcefulness in the face of unrelenting corporate greed and seemingly insurmountable forces. Based on the short story “Patience Lake” by Matthew Claxton, writers Pinion and Kavounas were inspired by the subject.

The game is afoot, and a 13-year-old YouTube star is on the case. Hayley LeBlanc, who rose to prominence alongside other members of her family on the Bratayley channel, is the author behind The Hayley Mysteries, a series of YA novels inspired by Nancy Drew.
The first installment in The Hayley Mysteries, titled The Haunted Studio, is due out on July 19. Booklist's blurb for the book describes it as "perfect for fans of Nancy Drew," which makes sense, since LeBlanc channeled the iconic teen sleuth as part of her writing process. "I love reading books and thought it would be a lot of fun to create a mystery series, since I am a big fan of crime, mystery, and horror films and TV series," LeBlanc said in a statement. "I like Nancy Drew novels and I thought it would be fun to create a modernized version that is relatable to teens in today's world.

Brat, the digital studio that services Gen Z audiences globally with a slew of multi-platform ventures, has dropped its first podcast, Attaway Appeal.
The series stars the voices of YouTuber and frequent Brat collaborator Annie LeBlanc, singer-songwriter-actress Indiana Massara (Chicken Girls), and marks a reboot of a previous Brat series about a school newspaper. Attaway Appeal is the name of the high school newspaper in Brat’s signature Chicken Girls franchise, and the scripted podcast sees two characters attempting to modernize the paper via the audio medium. Thus, as a show within the larger Brat universe, it serves as the latest extension of the brand’s IP.
Brat has also expanded into novels, branded content, music, and reality TV.
Episode one of Attaway Appeal, which is being distributed on Spotify as well as Brat’s YouTube channel, is titled He Uses the Girls’ Bathroom, and sees LeBlanc and Massara as...

The opening credits of Ilyssa Goodman’s “Next Level” are, perhaps, the most interesting thing about it. They begin with the credit for the producer — and when was the last time you saw that in a theater? — and then work their way backwards to the cast, crew and director, as if to say that the fact that this movie got made is, itself, the most noteworthy accomplishment of all.
“Next Level” is a song-and-dance drama about a summer camp for teen enthusiasts of this business we call show. The audience is informed, in no uncertain terms, in the movie’s second scene, that this is one of the most prestigious organizations of its kind in the country. But we are informed in literally every other scene that the organization employs only two people and is taking up space in a disused corner of a community-college campus.

Tween studio Brat has taken the lid off its first original series for Facebook Watch, Turnt.
The company briefly teased Turnt when it announced that it had raised $30 million in fresh funding last week from Anchorage Capital and others. Turnt will skew more mature than Brat’s previous programming, which is perhaps typified by its popular Chicken Girls franchise starring 13-year-old digital influencer Annie LeBlanc.
Starring newcomers Madeleine Byrne, Elsie Hewitt, and YouNow-slash-Musical.ly star Cristian Oliveras, Turnt is a 40-epsiode teen soap following an ensemble cast as they navigate the travails of high school after a scandalous hookup leads to bad trips, budding romance, and secret sex. The series will premiere on Aug. 1 with a four-episode drop, per The Hollywood Reporter, with three additional installments arriving every week thereafter. The series was created by Rachel Stern, while Will Slocome (The Escort) will direct. Brat co-founder Rob Fishman calls the series “provocative and timely.
