Spotify is launching a new feature called Songwriter Pages that aims to give listeners a better look at the creators behind their favorite songs.
The streaming service has roped in hit writers including Meghan Trainor, Fraser T Smith (Adele, Sam Smith), Missy Elliott, Teddy Geiger (One Direction, Shawn Mendes, 5 Seconds of Summer), Ben Billions (The Weeknd, Beyoncé) and Justin Tranter (Selena Gomez, Camila Cabello, Imagine Dragons), who have all made their new songwriter pages available for music fans to view, though the program at large is still in beta mode.

Hardly a decade ago the film industry in Serbia was in a state of crisis. The state-funded film center had failed to secure its annual budget for 2011. Production was in the doldrums. For a proud country with a rich cinematic legacy dating back to the glory days of the former Yugoslavia, alarm bells were ringing.
Fast-forward eight years and Belgrade is humming. In September alone, 18 foreign and domestic film and TV projects were in production around the Serbian capital. Two dozen local features were released this year, including eight from first-time fiction directors — a wave of young filmmakers breathing fresh life into the biz. Across this historic city sitting at the confluence of the Danube and Sava rivers, hopes are high that the Serbian industry can become the linchpin for the wider Balkan region.
“It’s amazing. We’re really proud of that kind of progress,” says Gordan Matić, director of Film Center Serbia.

The Leopard pounced into the semi-final of “The Masked Singer” with a powerful performance of “We Are Young” by Fun on Tuesday’s show. On the December 11 episode of the reality competition series. the Leopard will be vying for one of just three places in the final. Also in the hunt are four other famous folk who are competing as the Flamingo, Fox, Rottweiler and Thingamajig.
We think that the Leopard has the best voice of the bunch. We were shocked when he landed in the bottom 2 in week 7 but blame his song choice: “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire. We weren’t surprised when he won the sing-off with his rollicking rendition of “Don’t Cha” by The Pussycat Dolls.
We’ve taken another look at those performances as well as his other three appearances. In week 2, he owned the stage with his cover of the Queen classic “Somebody to Love.

The Leopard scared up enough votes in his first four appearance on “The Masked Singer” to make the quarter-final on December 10. He is competing for a place in the semi-final alongside celebrities disguised as the Flamingo, Fox, Rottweiler, Thingamajig and Tree. Each is hoping to win the audience vote and avoid a sing-off in front of the four judges.
The Leopard first took to the stage in week 2 with a rollicking version of the Queen classic “Somebody to Love.” Two weeks later, he showed us his versatility with a version of “Stitches” by Shawn Mendes. In week 5 he covered Katy Perry‘s signature song “Teenage Dream.” We were surprised in week 7 when his performance of “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire put him at risk. But he rallied and won the showdown with “Don’t Cha” by The Pussycat Dolls featuring Busta Rhymes.

In week 4, he changed it up with his version of “Stitches” by Shawn Mendes. And in week 5 he delivered a different take on “Teenage Dream” by Katy Perry.

An elegant hybrid of true-story exposé and slow-moving arthouse thriller, Serbian director Miroslav Terzić’s sober sophomore feature “Stitches” takes a familiar idea — a lone crusader taking on a corrupt system in pursuit of the truth — but delivers an unusually thoughtful, psychologically compelling character study. Taking its cue from Snežana Bogdanović’s eerily composed but fathomless central performance as a middle-aged Belgrade-based seamstress who believes she was deceived 18 years earlier by doctors who claimed her baby was stillborn, the film makes a confident drama of a cruel chapter in recent Serbian history.
Ana (Bogdanović), the wife of Jovan (Marko Baćović) and mother of teenage daughter Ivana (Jovana Stojiljković), is quiet to the point of being withdrawn. Or rather, we would think she’s withdrawn if it weren’t for an arresting, almost surreal opening scene that shows her stalking another woman, like a predator, from a safe distance. Though neither...
