Exclusive: Actress Emily Bader has signed with CAA.

The Temecula, CA born Bader stars next in the upcoming 3000 Pictures and Netflix movie People We Meet on Vacation, based on the bestselling novel by Emily Henry.

Bader recently starred in the titular role of Amazon Studios’ historical comedy-drama television series My Lady Jane. The show follows the Lady Jane Grey and her husband Guildford who live during the reign of Edward, son of Henry VIII. She unexpectedly finds herself crowned queen overnight and becomes the target of criminals who want her throne and her head.

Bader also played a lead in the Jennifer Esposito directed, written and headlining movie, Fresh Kills, which premiered at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival. Fresh Kills follows the loyal women of an organized crime family that dominated some of the boroughs of New York City in the late 20th century.

The Taylor Sheridan Paramount+ train keeps rolling. The Hollywood Reporter reveals his newest, Landman, will be premiering on the streaming platform this fall on November 17. Jon Hamm joins Billy Bob Thornton as a primary cast member for the contemporary oil rig drama. Based on the 11-part podcast Boomtown, Landman is “an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.”

Jon Hamm is going from the unhinged madness of Fargo to West Texas for Taylor Sheridan’s forthcoming Paramount+ series Landman. The Tag, Mad Men, and Mean Girls star joins Billy Bob Thornton as a primary cast member for a contemporary oil rig drama. Based on the 11-part podcast Boomtown, Landman is “an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.”

Jon Hamm plays Monty Miller in Sheridan’s Landman, a goliath in the Texas oil industry who has a long-standing personal and professional relationship with Thornton’s Tommy Norris. The Paramount+ series continues to strike it rich in the casting department, with stars like Demi Moore, Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, Kayla Wallace, James Jordan, Mark Collie and Paulina Chávez.

As her first foray into television, Michelle Randolph couldn’t have dreamt up a better experience than the one she’s having on 1923. Whether it’s the mentorship of Helen Mirren or the dear friendship of castmates like Julia Schlaepfer and Aminah Nieves, Randolph has gained much more than just horseback-riding skills from cowboy camp, a Taylor Sheridan-verse staple.

Randolph’s character, Elizabeth “Liz” Strafford, grew up on the Strafford Ranch, which is adjacent to the Yellowstone Ranch, and according to Randolph’s own backstory, Elizabeth fell in love with her newly minted husband, Jack Dutton (Darren Mann), during one of her summers back from school on the East Coast. Oddly enough, Randolph and Mann had already played a couple in an indie horror movie called House of the Witch (2017), so it’s somewhat poetic that he would be a part of her first movie and now her first TV show.

While Netflix is rolling out plenty of original content in April, it’s also breaking hearts by removing a myriad of Oscar-nominated classics from its slate this month.

“The Shawshank Redemption,” “The Artist,” “Moneyball,” “August: Osage County” and Sean Baker’s indie darling “The Florida Project” are just some of the Academy Award nominees of years’ past that are leaving the streamer. Other acclaimed drama titles facing the chopping block include “Léon: The Professional,” “The Killing of a Sacred Deer” and “Miss Sloane.”

For the hopeless romantics out there who rave about underrated gems, “About Time” and “Dear John” will leave the platform April 15 and 30, respectively. Oh, and if you were looking to binge or rewatch all seven seasons of “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” time is of the utmost importance. Additionally, all six seasons of “Dawson’s Creek” are also leaving Netflix this month.

With September now over, spooky season is nearly upon us. Halloween can bring out the best in media, with a spotlight on the horror genre in particular, and from classics to originals, Netflix has a ton of scary titles to choose from this month. However, they’re also losing a bunch of great selections starting today.

The company has been at the center of a great deal of controversy lately after canceling numerous shows that had already been renewed, as well as fan favorites that were just getting started. They also got into some trouble when marketing their new film Cuties, which was shamed for emphasizing the sexualization of young children. All this on top of the fact that they recently lost some of their staples like Friends and That ’70s Show to other services, and one would think that the streaming giant has a big problem on their hands.

It’s the way it always is with Netflix. You get a ton of new movies and TV shows every month, but you also lose a bunch of stuff, too, as the licensing agreements expire and they hop over to another streaming platform. September will be no different in that regard, either, as the company has now announced a hefty list of titles that are set to make their exit over the coming weeks.

As always, the biggest bulk of departures will go down at the end of the month, but the days leading up to then will also see some notable movies and TV shows vanish from the site, too. And below, you can see the full list of what Netflix will be losing in September.

Exclusive: Anne Heche, Graham McTavish, and Michelle Randolph have signed on to star in Chasing Nightmares, a horror thriller from Specter Pictures, the new genre label recently launched as part of producer David Brown’s Clear Horizon. Christopher McGowan wrote the script and is directing the film, which is the first under Specter Pictures’ label.

The plot involves a college student (Randolph) who risks her and her friends’ lives to track down the meaning behind the nightmares she has about a girl and a delusional masked man.

Spencer Daniels, Aubrey Cleland, Jay Huguley, and Dana Daurey are set to co-star as filming is currently underway in Los Angeles. Brown is producing the 828 Media Capital-financed pic alongside Todd Lundbohm of 828 Productions.

Heche was last seen on the big screen opposite Taraji P. Henson and Sam Rockwell in The Best of Enemies from Stx as well as NBC’s Chicago P.

Netflix has confirmed that a whopping 66 new original series, movies and specials will be debuting on the streaming service in October. Leading off the lineup is the eagerly awaited “Breaking Bad” movie, which the streaming service is billing as a “television event.” Emmy winner Aaron Paul reprises his role as Jesse Pinkman, who is on the run as his past catches up with him. The first half of the sixth and final season of the cult favorite “Bojack Horseman” will also drop this month.

Two features with awards buzz are coming to Netflix just weeks after their debuts at the Toronto film festival: “The Laundromat,” Steven Soderbergh‘s wry satire about international financial fraud that showcases Oscar darling Meryl Streep; and “Dolemite Is My Name,” a vehicle for Eddie Murphy who portrays 1970s comedian Rudy Ray Moore.
