Buckle your seatbelts for Senna, an upcoming limited series about the greatest Brazilian Formula 1 driver of all time: Ayrton Senna, who died in a racing accident 30 years ago.
The six-episode drama debuts Nov. 29, and now you can see star Gabriel Leone in character as Senna on the racetrack holding the driver’s trademark green and yellow helmet, plus his co-stars in character as some of the important figures in the legend’s life. This key art follows the release of a teaser for the scripted series, which tells the story of Senna’s racing career as well as his life and relationships. Senna’s first teaser re-creates the historical moment when the F1 driver won for the first time in his hometown — after being stuck in sixth gear for the entire race. It’s a must-watch for fans of the docuseries Formula 1: Drive to Survive.

Claudio Miranda, the Oscar-winning cinematographer who is shooting Joseph Kosinski’s upcoming “F1,” worked with Sony Electronics to develop a custom camera to film high-speed shots of Brad Pitt, Damson Idris and additional cast members and stunt drivers on Formula One racetracks.
For his prior collaboration with Kosinski on “Top Gun: Maverick,” Miranda used another new Sony development, the Rialto system, which effectively untethers the body of the camera from the sensor to create a device that could be mounted in small spaces such as aircraft cockpits to capture the feel of being in the aircraft.
To put a camera in a race car with Brad Pitt, who plays Formula One driven Sonny Hayes and was also a producer on the movie, this needed to be even more compact. Miranda tells Variety that on “Maverick,” excepting Tom Cruise, “the actors didn’t fly the aircraft. On Formula One, the actors...

By our estimates, Lewis Hamilton has traveled more than 80,000 miles this year, both for his job as one of the premiere drivers in Formula 1, and for leisure, as a perpetual tourist who’s always looking for his next adventure. And that’s not counting the 60-plus laps he drives on the track each race day either. It’s no surprise then, that Hamilton craves a little bit of stillness when he finds himself alone. And for as long as he can remember, Hamilton has found his solace in music.

Let’s be honest. The Alexa 35 is not the first camera that comes to mind when considering shooting sports. Camcorders are much more suitable for that, and if you are eager for the Alev look, then you can pick the dedicated Amira. Nevertheless, in this case study, cinematographer Dennis Zanatta utilized the precision of the Alev 4 (Alexa 35) paired with the exceptional zoom glass (Arri Signature Zoom 65-300mm) to film fast cars. Ask H. Moser & Cie CEO Edouard Meylan how his company’s watch ended up on the wrist of Bwt Alpine F1 Team driver Pierre Gasly and he will tell you a story that defies the typical path a brand takes to a major sports sponsorship.
“Six months ago, we wouldn’t have thought we would be here,” Meylan told The Hollywood Reporter during an interview at the Miami Grand Prix in May. In late 2023, he received a cold email from Alpine Racing executives that he thought was a joke. “It said, “We’re looking to work with you. Would you be interested in a partnership with our Formula 1 team?”
“We get a lot of spam,” Meylan laughs. It was funny because our father has been racing Alpine [cars] for many years and is a big collector.”

Director Jon Watts has also been signed up for Wolfs 2, focusing on two rival fixers, with the first set to release next month.
Last month we heard that Apple was planning to cut back on some of its spending excesses, perhaps meaning that the days of its $200m splurges on films like Napoleon or Killers Of The Flower Moon might now be a thing of the past. The company is said to be keen to curb its reputation as ‘the biggest spender in town’ and wants to start getting better value for money from projects.
What that looks like, we don’t yet know but perhaps today’s news gives us an inkling.
The studio has reportedly given the greenlight to a Wolfs sequel. The first film features George Clooney and Brad Pitt in what looks to be a fun thriller, pitting two ‘fixers’ against each other. Jon Watts directs the film,...

The day has finally arrived. In the six months since Disney, Fox, and Warner Bros. Discovery first announced that their sports streaming joint venture — which eventually came to be known as Venu Sports — would be hitting the market in fall of 2024, very few details have been available; the streamer’s name was even a mystery until this summer. However, on Thursday, the three sports and entertainment companies finally unveiled a bit more information about the sports streamer’s release, while keeping some other important details a mystery.
Key Details: Venu Sports will be priced at $42.99 per month following a seven-day free trial. The streamer still has not confirmed when the service will launch other than “in the fall.” Channels including ESPN, FS1, TNT, and more will be available on the service. Coming Soon $42.99+ / month venu.com
One of the most contentious streaming stories of the year has been the launch of this first-of-its-kind collaborative streamer.

Revving up to the echelons of Formula 1 racing is no walk in the pit lane; it’s a steep climb requiring the ultimate in athletic prowess and a will of steel. Formula 1 management sims let us experience the thrills of grid racing from the pit wall. Frontier Developments knows how to immerse us in the sport with authentic details and strategic depth. Their third outing, F1 Manager 2024, builds on earlier successes with meaningful updates while retaining its welcoming atmosphere.
New this year is the ability to forge our own story. We can craft an identity, choose backgrounds that really impact chances, and hire favorites like Nico Hülkenberg or Yuki Tsunoda. Rather than just taking over Red Bull, defining goals and growing from there makes victories sweeter. This freshens the sense of progression from season to season.
Frontier also enhances strategic nuance. A new mentality system relates confidence to performance, so morale impacts race results. Mechanical faults bring on-track drama, and overheating demands careful management. Revised sponsorship depthens commercial consideration. Data piles further fuel thoughtful choices.
Of course, room remains for refinement.

It looks like Viaplay is shaking some things up based on their latest earnings report. Overall revenue was just a tiny bit lower, but their core business actually saw a small rise in cash. Even better, they’ve seriously cut back on losses compared to last year.
The new CEO seems optimistic about changes they’re making. Things like boosting partnerships for big sports like Formula 1 and UEFA are helping attract more viewers and money opportunities. Makes sense – sports are huge these days.
While subscriber numbers dipped a bit, it seems price bumps in most areas offset that. And it’s clear Viaplay has been trimming the fat after laying off almost a third of their staff last year. They also pulled out of some not-so-hot markets like the UK.
In other TV news, Channel 4 snagged the rights to a couple gripping doc projects. One looks back at...

Under bright studio lights, a single race car glints on the track below. Its muscles are tense, waiting for release into the flow of competition. Nearby, a developer scratches notes, hoping to tune the raw material of their vision into a rewarding experience. Their goal is to craft a game appealing to both arcade aficionados and simulation specialists, merging each style’s virtues while blunting their faults.
Hot Lap Racing aspires to this balanced design. As an indie racer spanning console and PC, it offers approachable action alongside authentic touches. Career, time trials, online combat—all blend to entertain. Yet blending styles risks muddying each; finding the essence proves elusive.
Through play, one probes how successfully Hot Lap Racing corrals its ambitions. Do varied modes truly engage or grow dull in execution? Can its car handling satisfy both camps or leave all wanting more? By feeling alone, the finish line remains uncertain.

In the aftermath of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt‘s high-profile split, their family dynamics have continued to evolve, with recent developments on the intricate relationships within the household brought to light.
The acclaimed actor reportedly has had no contact with his adult children, while his engagement with the younger ones has become more limited due to his film industry commitments.
Pitt, 60, currently on location in Europe to film a racing movie, has had limited interactions with his six children: Maddox, 22, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, Pax, 20, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 15. The custody agreement between Jolie, 48, and Pitt allows the latter visitation rights with the minor children.
Shiloh recently filed to drop “Pitt” from her last name, a move that reportedly has left the actor angry. Pitt is “deeply saddened” by the loss of his relationship with his kids.
Pitt is now in a happy relationship with Ines de Ramon, who is 26 years younger than him.

The couple’s relationship, which began in November 2022, has progressed steadily. De Ramon is reportedly planning to move into Pitt’s L.A. home.
