With Destination Marfa now on DVD and digital services, I had the opportunity to catch up with producer and co-star Stelio Savante to learn about how he got involved with the film, his favorite on set memories, working with Tony Todd, and more!
How did you get involved with Destination Marfa as a producer and one of the film's co-stars?
The project kept coming across my radar where it no longer felt coincidental. Often these projects and roles serendipitously chase you. It literally felt like a case of pronoia to me. So I reached out to Andy, we had a solid initial conversation and he sent me the script. At that point the hitchhiker role (Vincent) was still up for being retold and it fell into place very naturally. As a producer, I wanted to help Andy’s vision become fully realized and I reached out and brought in a...

“The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It,” which opened in theaters along with HBO Max, bested the second weekend of theatrical exclusive “A Quiet Place Part II.” There’s positive signs in the results for both films as well as the #3 title, “Cruella,” but signs are mixed in the broader picture.
Theaters in the U.S./Canada (the latter still mostly shut down) took in around $69 million this weekend, a sum that represents 42 percent of the gross for the first June weekend of 2019. Similarly, Memorial Day weekend 2021 represented 45 percent the same period in 2019. Theaters have every reason to expect further improvement, and no one expects short-term parity, but viability will require hockey-stick growth.
This “Conjuring” is the eighth film in an eight-year-old franchise that includes three “Annabelle” titles, “The Nun,” and “The Curse of La Llorona.” It opened with parallel streaming, and faced off another major title in a similar genre.

The road to hell is paved with movies like “Under the Stadium Lights,” a well-intentioned but wearyingly ponderous and curiously disjointed faith-based drama about football players and their dedicated chaplain at a high school in Abilene, Texas. It doesn’t help much that, with its bumpy pacing, gaping plot holes, and supporting characters who grab attention and then inexplicably disappear, the movie plays like a miniseries that has been ruthlessly cut down to feature length. And it helps even less that the sluggish narrative is repeatedly and interminably padded with local TV footage of actual 2009 football games emblazoned with on-screen signage for local advertisers.
During the opening minutes, we’re informed: “Here in Abilene, we got faith, we got family, and we got football. The Holy Trinity.” Lest you think that just a smidge sacrilegious, consider the source: Chad Mitchell, an Abilene clergyman who serves as spiritual advisor for the...

A man walks into a bar. He’s handsome enough to attract the attention of the ladies in this tavern, including Liz Kloepfer, a single mother who’s been dragged to the tavern by her best friend for a night out. He notices her, too. They meet-cute at the jukebox, talk, flirt. He takes her home. She invites him in. They spend a chaste night together. Remember when kids in middle school used to say "snitches get stitches"?
Well, on Chicago Pd Season 7 Episode 7 we learned that the stitches part means they can get killed in broad daylight while chatting up a cop.
I have to say, I've watched every single episode of Chicago Pd to date, and I've never been so shaken by a death in my life.
When Cameron got shot in the chest, I jumped out of my seat.
It was obvious that he was going to die by the end of the episode.
Not only is it par for the course for many Ci's, but Cam was a rather overzealous one who ran rampant and ignored Hailey when she urged him to let it go.
Chicago Pd Season 7 Episode 5 Review: Brother's Keeper
Though, I didn't expect his death to be so tragic and ruthless.
It's probably important to get this out there...

There was no justice served on Chicago Pd Season 7 Episode 6.
After a weak Chicago Pd Season 7 Episode 5, the series bounced back strong in an hour that tested everyone in Intelligence.
Halstead took the lead on a gruesome and heartbreaking case, and he was determined to solve it by any means necessary.
Along the way, he made a few wrong calls resulting in a pretty dire day for Chicago law enforcement.
By the end, there were no winners.
The biggest mistake Intelligence made was trusting a facial recognition software that was still in its beta stages.
The interim Mayor Crawford felt optimistic about the software and convinced Voight's team to use it to find their suspect but ultimately, it was their poor decision-making that created this mess.
Kareem: You want me to tell you what was up in that stash house? What was taken?
Voight: Stolen. From your criminal enterprise. Yes,...
