Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Luke Kleintank will star in “The Good Neighbor,” a remake of German thriller “Unter Nachbarn.”

The movie will center on new neighbors David and Robert, who find themselves bonded by a hit-and-run accident. According to the official logline: “When the dead girl’s sister shows up to investigate, David, overcome with guilt, wonders if he can find redemption while Robert is determined to bury the past and keep his new friend for himself, no matter the cost.”

The film will be directed by Stephan Rick (“The Dark Side of the Moon”), from a script by Rick and Ross Partridge (“Room 104”). Rick also directed the original movie.

Val Kilmer made a rare public appearance this weekend, giving fans a glimpse at his life in the wake of his throat cancer diagnosis.

The Top Gun actor, 59, gave a speech Sunday in Los Angeles at a fundraiser he hosted for his TwainMania Foundation, which he created to educate children on author Mark Twain’s legacy.

“You can be the most liberal or conservative, but [Twain’s] style of loving America is like a secret weapon to use in schools because everybody loves him,” Kilmer told The Hollywood Reporter.

The L.A. Film Festival selected “Nomis” as its closing night film on Sept. 28 at the ArcLight Hollywood Cinerama Dome. The showing was the world premiere for “Nomis,” which follows American police trapping an online predator, only to realize the depth of his crimes goes far beyond anything they had anticipated. This actually looks like a decent film and it’s great to Val Kilmer back in action and making movies. It seems like its been awhile. A lot of fans have been worried about his physical state in the past, but he actually looks good in this movie! Seeing him here in this trailer actually got me more excited to see him back as Ice Man in Top Gun: Maverick.

Carole Shelley, the Tony Award-winning actress who portrayed one of the Pigeon sisters in the stage, film and television versions of Neil Simon's The Odd Couple, has died. She was 79. Shelley passed away following a battle with cancer at her home in Manhattan on August 31.

The actress also was known for originating the role of Crage Hall headmistress Madame Morrible in the Broadway sensation "Wicked" in 2003.

Shelley won her Tony in 1979 for playing Mrs. Kendal, the gracious real-life English actress who befriends John Merrick, in the best play winner "The Elephant Man."

"I've learned a lot in playing her," Shelley, who started out as a comic actress, said in a 1979 interview with The New York Times. "So much of what I've been working toward in the past few years — the effort to achieve stillness, spareness, clarity in my acting — seems to have come together in Mrs. Kendal. She's been...

Odd Couple actress Carole Shelley died Friday from cancer at her home in Manhattan. She was 79.

Born in London, Shelley was a star of stage and screen. She made her Broadway debut in 1965 in the original cast of Neil Simon’s The Odd Couple. In 1975, she received a Tony Award nomination for her role in Alan Ayckbourn’s Absurd Person Singular. In 1979, she received another nomination and a win for Best Actress in a Play for her performance in the original company of The Elephant Man.

Shelley went on to reprise her role of Gwendolyn Pigeon in the film and TV series adaptation of The Odd Couple. She and Monica Evans are the only two actors to appear in all three major iterations of Simon’s play as the same characters.

Shelley’s award streak would continue as she won an Obie Award in 1982 for her work in the Off-Broadway...

Flueger portrays the building’s new superintendent and a former NYPD officer, who immediately suspects the strange maintenance man, played by Kilmer. With his daughters’ lives on the line, he must decipher the cryptic riddles in which Kilmer’s character speaks to solve the case of the disappearances before it’s too late.

“‘The Super’ marks a return to form for Val Kilmer, who delivers a truly menacing performance,” Saban Films’ Bill Bromiley said.

When Val Kilmer heard that a Top Gun sequel was in the works, he must have dug into his chest of memorabilia and started prepping for a potential return as Iceman.
