This week, British actor, writer and director Noel Clarke has made headlines after being accused of groping, harassment and bullying by 20 women.
Clarke played Mickey Smith in “Doctor Who” from 2005 to 2010 and starred as Sam in the films “Kidulthood,” “Adulthood” and “Brotherhood,” which he wrote and directed, intent on bringing more representations of working-class Britain to screen. Clarke also writes, produces and plays Aaron Bishop in the British police procedural series “Bulletproof,” alongside close friend Ashley Walters.
Clarke made his film debut in 2003’s “I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead” and has since starred in movies including “Star Trek Into Darkness,” “Centurion,” “4.3.2.1.,” “Fast Girls,” “Storage 24,” “I Am Soldier,” “The Anomaly,” “I Kill Giants,” “Mute,” “10×10,” “The Corrupted,” “Twist” and “Sas: Red Notice.”
In 2015, Clarke founded the London-based production company Unstoppable Film and Television with Jason Maza, eventually securing investment from super-indie All3Media, which owns “Fleabag” producer Two Brothers and “1917” outfit Neal Street Productions.

Crime Time: Scalpello Skirts the Underbelly in Generic, Capable Thriller
We’ve reached a point where something like The Corrupted, the latest offering from Britain’s Ron Scalpello, a violent and narratively convincing showcase of considerably nefarious designs of colluding cops and criminals, has come to seem a bit old-fashioned. Ably performed by a cast of some formidably notable talent joined by contemporary stars, there’s nothing essentially wrong with Scalpello’s latest, curiously written by Nick Moorcroft (best known for his St. Trinian’s comedies a decade or so prior). And yet, there’s nothing to make this remarkably compelling or eventually memorable in the mind’s eye, which may explain why it’s taken so long for the title to travel stateside, only to be unceremoniously plopped into an early January limited release.…...

A new trailer has emerged for Brain De Palma’s thriller ‘Domino’ featuring ‘Game of Thrones’ star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.
De Palma makes his return with his first film since 2012 in the thriller that stars Guy Pearce and Carice van Houten alongside Coster-Waldau.
From the looks of the trailer the thriller doesn’t look to the standard, we would expect from De Palma. The filmmaker has previously stated that this isn’t his project, not having had a hand in writing the script. Instead, this is a journey of visual narrative.
“It is the revenge story of the revenge of a cop duo against terrorists who killed another. But the whole political aspect will be very little exploited, the film was more for me a new opportunity to explore a visual narrative“.

Pour one out for poor Cayde-6. “Destiny 2” fans have known for months that developer Bungie is killing off the fan-favorite character in the upcoming Forsaken expansion. Now, they can watch the gunslinger’s final battle in a new cinematic trailer unveiled during Gamescom on Thursday.
When some of the “Destiny” universe’s most notorious outlaws escape from the Prison of Elders, only the wisecracking hunter Cayde-6 is there to protect the city. He puts up a brave fight, even killing a creature with his horn (?) at one point. But, he ultimately fails. Voiced by actor Nathan Fillion in the first two games (Nolan North is apparently taking over for Forsaken), Cayde-6 brought some much-needed levity to “Destiny’s” usually self-serious tone.
Additionally, Bungie and publisher Activision announced Thursday they’re offering a free trial of Forsaken’s new Gambit mode for all “Destiny 2” owners. Gambit is a hybrid 4v4 mode that merges player-vs.

The “Destiny 2: Forsaken” expansion will have four new strikes when it launches on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on Sept. 4, according to a large leak posted on Reddit last Friday. There’s also info on the new raid, the new Gambit game mode, and more.
The leak comes from Reddit user Ginsor, who is responsible for digging up credible datamined information in the past like the return of the Crimson Days event. But, as always with these types of leaks, take it all with a fist-sized grain of salt.
That said, the four new strikes are apparently called Warden of Nothing, The Hollowed Lair, The Corrupted, and The Broodhold. Like other “Destiny” strikes, they will all have Nightfall versions.
Bungie has already talked about a new raid called The Dreaming City, but Ginsor’s leak mentions another raid reportedly called Last Wish. It will possibly feature a boss called Dul Incaru,...

Shrek producer John Williams has partnered with Deepak Nayar and Nik Bower’s Riverstone Pictures on a slate of animated feature films in the $15M-$20M range.
The trio have already set up their first two projects including Goose Chase and The Silk Road Rally, which will both be written by Charming’s Ross Venokur. The films will be produced by Deepak Nayar’s Kintop Pictures and John Williams’ Vanguard Entertainment, while Riverstone will finance.
Goose Chase is set in the world of classic Mother Goose characters; it is an action-comedy about Simple Simon and Wee Willy Winkie, the world’s worst treasure hunters, who embark on a mission to find the legendary golden eggs in hopes of saving their world and, maybe, winning the heart of Little Bo Peep.

In a pre-Cannes Film Festival move, production-financing-sales company the Exchange and specialty finance company Forest Road are launching their $50 million fund, Roadrunner Capital.
The fund has already provided capital for the SXSW project “Shotgun,” helmed by Hannah Marks and Joey Power. Roadrunner will be co-managed by the Exchange and Forest Road executives, with offices in New York and Los Angeles.
The sole purpose of the joint venture fund is to lend capital to responsible production companies at below-market rates in a seamless manner. As a sales-distribution outfit, the Exchange will sell some of the fund’s projects, but not all.
Forest Road offers low-cost financing options for tax-related collateral among various industries and subsectors, and this partnership is aimed at accelerating its expansion into independent film and television financing.
“Even at its infancy, we’re already seeing how Roadrunner has a competitive advantage in the marketplace. We’re very excited...
