Why are the films not in the same order as the list on the DVD case?
This is not the best BOF. I like my endings happy and joyful and quite honestly some of them were just weird.
Curious Thing (2010) It's like a whole film told as a trailer with voice overs and I like that.
An exploration of when a bi curious guy meets a burgeoning Homo and they have the same feeling about each other at exactly the same time. I'd love to have caught a few of the Bi-Curious guys I've known at just the right moment.
Matthew Wilkas is beautiful, I want one!
Cleverly done.
479.95/1000.
Cakes And Sand (2010) This film is all over the place. Fortunately Julian has a fantastic backside at least. That is it's one saving grace really, because apart from that, it's quite boring and I didn't really like Tim at all.
108.75/1000.
Watch Over Me (2010) A veritable feast of handsome men and with a storyline for a change. The lead doesn't seem to be very good as an actor, but he's very pretty and has a great bottom.
It's a shame that it doesn't end as you might want it to, but what can you expect from a short story on a DVD called Boys On Film 7 - Bad Romance?
I could see this as a longer film.
The subtitles are really bad, but it doesn't bite hard!
303.91/1000.
The New Tenants (2009) In its way it's quite funny. I liked it. A quirky and extreme, but horrifyingly believable little tale. What seems like a bland day turns in to something very full of excitement.
A clever story and great cast.
333.09/1000.
Just Friends (2009) More terrible South Korean nonsense. I thought the last one was bad, but this one was musical too.
Im pretty sure that they're just re-using the same characters too, although this Min-Soo isn't deaf like the last one.
And why is it that the worst short films are always the longest? And just when you think it's over, it keeps going?
To be fair, once the initial song was over, it wasn't the worst film ever, but it wasn't exactly exciting either.
There's some terrible acting and some very bad directional and productional choices and more awful songs. The mother is also ridiculous and weird.
It's like an after school programme made by the Korean chuckle brothers!
059.85/1000.
Mirrors (2007) I'm not sure I understood all the different relationships between everybody?
There was nothing to it really. He was the only one that didn't have someone, but nothing came of it. Who was he after, if any of them? Was that his Dad? Was that his Uncle? Was he even gay?
It had potential, but lost its way in its telling.
114.85/1000.
Communication (2010) I'm not sure if I was supposed to believe the flashback towards the end or if it was something he wished had happened.
It is at least a well put together and contained story and not too badly acted either.
152.85/1000.
The Traitor (2009) I myself have had a few exes that I could quite easily have beaten around the head, but none as sexy as either of these men.
I don't recall reacting this way when any of them left me broken and alone and perhaps that's because, when I look back, I realise that none of them were really good enough for me or worthy of my rage.
I'm not sure it's the best story, without a bit more context, but I didn't mind it at all.
201.55/1000.
The Strange Ones (2011) You never know what to believe any more? I heard somewhere that if you're being raped that you're more likely to get assistance if you shout fire instead of rape? Isn't that weird? So is the youngster here telling the truth or is he just trying to get his older brother in trouble? The motel receptionist is a bit clueless and useless too, much like she was in 'The Walking Dead' before she got an arrow in her eye.
Leaves you thinking.
333.08/1000.
Cappuccino (2010) It does feel a bit like child porn, although you don't see anything of course and they are both children, but in a sexually charged environment performing sexual acts, so it feels a bit odd to watch it. I suppose that we are meant to think that they are at least 16 and that's supposed to make it better?
It's not the worst story though as it asks the question "Why is the world so full of prick teases?" I'm sure I've met all of the ones in Devon at least?! And then these "Straight" guys have the nerve to get aggro when you try to take it further.
I'm not sure the Mother's story arc was necessary, but at least it gave her substance.
