A touching documentary that truly reflects how young people involve in Umbrella Movement.

Umbrella Movement was a biggest political event since the handover in 1997. Over hundred people took on the street to fight for universal suffrage. The director, Chan Tze Woon, made this stunning documentary, which shows the 79 days of occupying. There are many documentaries about this movement. However, Yellowing could be the best of them. He didn't emphasise the politicians or leaders of student union, instead, he tells us the struggling story of a group of passionate students. Although Chan was graduated from Department of Social Science, his film not only focuses on political events. He excels in capturing the daily life of protesters, such as one of the group failed to get the phone numbers of another protesters. To many Hong Konger, Yellowing could be the living evidence of Umbrella Movement. The nomination of Golden Horse Awards has shown his potential to be the best young director in Hong Kong.
