John Landis on An American Werewolf in London (2001)
*** 1/2 (out of 4)
Excellent 18-minute interview with writer-director John Landis who takes us through the production of AN American WEREWOLF IN London. He starts off talking about why he wrote the screenplay in 1969 and why the script ended up getting him jobs, although he couldn't find anyone to actually make it until after he had several hits. From here he talks about being a fan of horror movies, what he wanted out of the violence and of course what he expected Rick Baker to do with the transformation scenes. If you're a fan of the film then you're certainly going to love this interview as Landis is as energetic as always and you can just tell that he loves this movie and loves talking about it. He certainly tells many great stories about the production of the film and fans will love hearing them.
