Most European based males, like myself, tend to have a (misplaced) arrogance when it comes to knowledge surrounding the continents most played sport: Football/Soccer. With in mind that Club de Cuervos/Club of Crows (2015) is a Netflix-production from Mexico, I didn't know what to expect when getting this series recommended to me.

Club de Cuervos (CDC) revolves around two siblings who inherit a Mexican First-division Soccer club based in the small town of Nuevo Toledo when their father and nationwide-loved owner of the team dies. Siblings being Siblings, from day one the co-ownership turns into a power struggle between the two protagonists who couldn't be more different from one another even if they tried. Younger brother Chava Iglesias is a brass, party-loving socialite without a sense of responsibility while his sister Isabel Iglesias-Reina is more mature and focused despite having the tendency of being a bit naive.

The contradiction between them makes this a little gem from the get go. The ongoing power struggle makes for great enjoyment and instant comedic situations. The on-screen chemistry between Chava (Luiz Gerardo Mendez) and Isabel (Mariana Trevino) is spot on and close to subliminal.

Although most of the show is centered around Chava and Isabel there are some notable characters who make up for interesting side-stories. "Best of the rest" is without doubt Chava's asistent Hugo Sanchez (Jesus Zavala), every time this character graces the screen I'll immediately get a grin on my face at worst, at best he makes sure I'll end up on the floor laughing. The stunning Mary Luz (Stephanie Cayo) will keep all male (and probably a decent amount of females) eyes glued to the screen, her role as femme fatale and antagonist to Isabel gets bigger in season two but is pivotal to the first installment.

We also get to know some of the actual Soccer playing squad members, their roles not to in-depth. Still the likes of Potro (Joaquin Fereira) and Tony (Juan Pablo de Santiago) are portrayed in a way resembling a big percentage of modern day soccer athletes (not to bright, vain and egocentric).

With decent enough plot-twists, moments of full-out laughter and a stable and definitely very able cast you would be forgiven for binging the 3 season show in a weekend. Yes, sometimes CDC comes across as a "Telenovela" but it definitely will keep you entertained

If you are a diehard soccer fan and have reasonable knowledge of the sport then some of the inaccuracies may put you off. But then again this just isn't a show centered around the actual sport itself but much more then that.

Writing credits go to Alesia Constantini (Scrubs) and Jay Dyer (Californication) who do an excellent job as this is their first time doing a non American gig.

Enjoyment: 8/10 Entertaining, comedic, plot-twists.

Writing: 8/10 American based writers but very little gets lost in translation.

Cast: 9/10 Main characters are superbly cast. Recurring characters can be a bit flat, whe never really get to know their background.

Loved this show from the start, and the best part is it gets better as it goes. Even if you don't appreciate or understand much about soccer, you can still enjoy this for the enterneinment.

Laugh so Hard with chava and Isabel, the first season is Good but the second and third seasons are the best

This show goes deeper than what the eye sees. Its a funny oriented show but shows common world issues sorroundimg sports in a subtle level. It can be a bit obscene for some people but this wasnt a deal breaker for me. Netflix put a lot of effort into this. I had a really good time and the last season was incredible. Strongly recommend it for anyome looking to have some good laughs and good drama at some points

I Enjoyed watching every episode of this series. The actors where great and the plot was very entertaining. It's always fun to see different types of plots like the one in this show. Having been hooked since the first episode, I could not help but to watch the rest of the season. I truly recommend this show to anybody who wants to enjoy a great quality show. I recently told a couple friends about this show and they as well enjoyed watching it. Even though this show is in Spanish, I was still able to understand the impressive level of comedy the actors were giving. This was the type of show I have been looking for on Netflix. An interesting plot with very interesting actors. I can't wait to see the season 2.

It is a real gem. Loved the mix of Mexican, Spanish, Argentinian, Colombian etc actors and, implicitly, the different accents of Spanish. Got to know so much about Mexico and its people. Needless to say the next time I went to a Mexican restaurant, the first thing in the menu I wanted to try was the "elote". Watched Season 4 recently and though it was soooo good! Excellent show!

I 100% loved this show. This brings out a new culture to the people who love soccer. Any soccer fan out there would love this show, and I recommend it to everyone! I enjoyed every episode and I can't wait for the second season. Since I saw a trailer on YouTube about this I was like "oh this seems like a good show" so I watched and I loved it in the first 5 minutes. This is my favorite Netflix series, tied with the show Narcos. I recommend this show to anyone who loves soccer and to people who enjoy comedies and drama. This show is so hilarious. I can only laugh at certain comedies, it's really hard for me to laugh at something and this hit me with a lot of laugh I though my stomach was gonna die or something. 10/10.

I highly recommend it if you are looking for a Mexican Story which has nothing to do with drugs, deaths, etc...It is very modern and really funny. Sad sometimes too but very human also.

For me it was not easy to tell me to see a Mexican series, since these tend to be a total failure, but thx to my friend i see crows club, no doubt since the first chapters the magic of the Iglesias brothers make's you to be a addicted to this serie, that interweaves a comedy plot with a 100% mexican satire, there is no doubt that the binomial of these two actors is the main attraction, but there are also secondary actors who at certain moments take on the role of principals, a profound criticism social to the mafia of the futball, where the owners of equipment accommodate games to their benefit, and where it is clear that the money behind this sport corrupts anyone, there is no doubt that the seasons go to more, the first 3 are the bomb, the fourth, down a bit, take a more retrospective plot to explain the life of each character, and turn a little more serious to our principals, the end itself seems a bit forced, I think they could make a one more season, to give the opportunity to defend what cost them so much, recommended 100% this series, and believe me for me it is difficult to say this but it is a point and aside to the badly done that is usually done in Mexico, this is Something very thought, directed, produced and achieved.

what you'd expect It combines two of the things people likes, sex and football. it is something easy to do, the performances are good for my taste and there are very funny scenes i especially liked the character of Hugo Sanchez and the youngest guy in the team and the Argentinian guy.

its "nosotros los nobles" but with football, the role of Luis Gerardo Mendez is exactly the same which is not bad, but sometimes it was very predictable. the scenes where they play football were awful , I do not think it's easy to simulate a stadium but in the series the stadium looked so fake and when they played football too. It is a series in which you must not understand anything, everything happens and you do not need to have a gram of intelligence to understand, just sit back and enjoy, you like the team and that simple.

In short it is a comedy very funny parts, its not complicated comedy , they are "pastelazo" jokes and most are related with sex is so easy, it goes fast and is pleasant to see it that way. is 7 if not 6.5, if you have time and want something "fun" and easy watch this.

I watched the first season of Cuervos, hoping that brother and sister would find common ground. It will never happen. The 2nd series Amplifies their ability to be obnoxious and hateful and shows how wealth without brains perpetuates idiots.

There are far better tv series for my mind.

Which, I think was better than seasons 1 and 2. Chava an Isabel are fun to watch and both are great actors. Too bad the can't come to the US and star in a series. Although I don't understand a word of Spanish I enjoy listening to the characters' speech patterns. NetFlix has hooked me on foreign series and movies. Thank God for CC.

Yay!!! The fourth season just started. I know what I'll be watching for the next few days. I think this is one of NetFlix's best series. Most of the foreign series are really good but Club de Cuervos is outstanding. Hope it keeps going a few more years. The actors are really good. Jan. 27, 2019 Just finished season 4. Great. Please make plans for seasons 5, 6, 7. It would be fun to see Chava in New York. I thoroughly enjoyed this from the beginning of season 1 to the end of season 4. Whoever cast the actors is a genius because everyone fit exactly who they were playing. Thank you Netflix and thank you Mexico.

It's weird nowadays to have a good mexican tv show, or film. But "Club de Cuervos (Club of Crows)" really works and it's pretty good. It can be very funny as it can be very emotional. PLEASE watch this show, and learn to love it.

Just finished the first season and 100% loved this show. I have already recommended it to lot of my friends. I enjoyed every episode and can't wait to see the next season.

Neither myself nor my husband is a football fan. My husband had never seen a Spanish show until this one and we both LOVED it.

There's so much going on in the show; many sides stories and side characters, yet they all tie in together seamlessly.

I was angry; I laughed; I cried. This show gave me an emotional roller coaster in a very good way.

It's been a long time since the both of us felt sad that a series is over.

Watch it until the very end. You won't regret it.

I loved already the first season of "Club de Cuervos" but the second season is by far the best. The cast is even better, and the stories are completely loco with. You can really imagine what a creative process it was to create such a show. The actors are so much fun to watch.It's very hard to not fall in love with the characters of this show. Please Netflix keep this going. You could easily imagine yourself a 3rd or a 4th & 5th season of Club de Cuervos. When nothing is sure, everything is possible. Walter Bazar !

Do you like soccer? Or football for anyone outside the US of course. If so, you may have some fun with this. Not because of any super realistic scenes on the pitch/field (mediocre at best most of the times, for exciting scenes refer to some movies who have done really well in that ... field), but because of what is going on outside, the fans, the management, the general mayhem.

Interesting story about a club and it's "owners", but also many of the players, with in depth stories surrounding them sometimes. Mostly funny, with dramatic elements of course. Many good looking people no matter what gender you prefer and quite some nudity (which frankly I didn't expect, but isn't something the show relishes on either - it is just there from time to time). Nice closure I guess while you have quite a few borderline storylines to go through which touches a lot of cliches, but how else would they make it? Exactly ...

So entertaining especially for football and Spanish lovers. The length of the serie was appropriate and therefore they managed to maintaim the quality throughout the seasons.

There aren't many foreign language shows with English subtitles that I enjoy enough to binge watch, but Club of Crows is definitely worth the little bit of extra effort. It isn't deeply cerebral, a lot of the humor is fairly basic, but the cast draws you in and gives the viewer a good time. It's a show about a soccer team, but the soccer usually provides the backdrop to the personal stories.

Luis Gerardo Mendez and Mariana Trevino are perfect as the feuding and dysfunctional brother and sister owners of a not-ready-for-FIFA soccer team. There are some standout performances from much of the cast, especially the very maligned Hugo Sanchez, played by Jesus Zavala. Zavala has made Hugo such a popular character that Netflix gave him a six-episode spinoff in June, 2018 called Club de Cuervo Presents: The Ballad of Hugo Sanchez.

If you're looking for a deep social commentary on soccer, this isn't the show for you. If you are looking for a fun dramatic comedy, that will actually make you laugh out loud in every episode, Its worth every subtitled word.

So far so good! It's still on going on Netflix and my hubby and I watch this and enjoy it!

These were the ingredients that Netflix chooses to deliver his first original TV Show in Spanish.The two leading characters are sympathetic even with the unlikeable personality traits they have.

Every season has their plot distinctly well defined, and you know in which season you are, merely looking to the goal of any character. The evolution of the story and characters feels natural and fluid. The Soccer thematic is pretty great and it's a significant detail for the first production of Netflix set on Latin American because Soccer is something absolutely important in Latin America and that makes it so much different than any other U.S.A. Production.

If you want to watch a Mexican production that's worth watching is Club de Cuervos. Give it a chance, I promise you will have fun.

Even as a mexican, I couldn't care less about football (or soccer, whatever). That's why I hesitated to start watching Club de Cuervos...thankfully this series is not really about football. The show focuses on the misadventures of two brothers trying not to ruin the football club, that was inherited from their late father. The sinopsis sounds normal, but the show could not be more hilarious and stupid and unrealistic (in a good way). The story keeps itself very simple throught the show, actually it reminds me of the tipical mexican telenovela. That means that there are a lot of plot holes and incongruences, but if you consider what Club de Cuervos tries to do, these errors will be irrelevant for you. Club de Cuervos only wants to make you laugh, and it succeeds masterfully on it. Keep in mind, this is a mexican product, and that's what I would not recommend it highly to people that don't speak spanish, because (I suppose) the jokes will be lost in translation. So, if you're mexican or a latino, and even if you despise football, Club de Cuevos is a series that you should totally watch. P.S. Someone wants to be my Hugo Sánchez?? Haha
