The following contains spoilers for Solo Leveling Season 2, Episode 11, “It’s Going to Get Even More Intense”.
Solo Leveling’s second season has officially turned Sung Jinwoo into the Winter 2025 anime season’s undisputed king of action anime. However, Jinwoo will have one more challenger for his crown before this season is done, as he is set to face the terrifying Ant King in Solo Leveling Season 2, Episode 12 (Episode 24 overall), “Are You The King of Humans”. Considering all Jinwoo has achieved this season, becoming the “King of Humans” is really the last bastion of unexplored territory for him at this point.
Throughout Solo Leveling Season 2, Sung Jinwoo became an official S-Rank, rescued his mother from her debilitating Eternal Sleep Disease, and even caught the eye (and nose) of Cha Haein in the process. It would’ve been easy for him to embrace all these victories and accept that there’s...

The Variable Man will soon join that list, as Deadline reports that Motive Pictures is developing a grounded sci-fi series based on the novella.

What if your adoptive parents weren't just from another country, but rather... another world? It's one of several intriguing plot points in director Jeffrey St. Jules' new film The Silent Planet, which is now available on digital. Lead actress Briana Middleton (The Inheritance) plays Niyya, a convicted felon who is sentenced to labor on another planet. It probably doesn't seem that absurd a penalty, given her parents are seemingly from another planet. Yes, Niyya was raised by aliens due to a long-ago tragedy that struck her actual parents' lives. MovieWeb recently spoke with both Middleton and St. Jules in separate interviews to learn more about how they put their heads together to better understand and flesh out the unique lead character — beyond just the words on St. Jules' script pages.
"A lot [of what we did] with her was talking about kind of how she grew up... and what it is about the alien...

In the world of Gene Roddenberry's "Star Trek," the bulk of the galaxy is overseen by an off-screen mega-bureaucracy called the United Federation of Planets, or just the Federation for short. The Federation is sort of like a supra-un that binds hundreds of civilized, technologically advanced planets in a widespread and benevolent pact of mutual aid. "Star Trek" is meant to take place in a post-scarcity society, and that's largely because so many planets are finally able to properly reallocate their resources. Starfleet is the regimented space navy that the Federation employs to engage in missions of exploration, study, and delivery.
The concepts of "the Federation" and "Starfleet," however, took a while to fully form on "Star Trek." In the episode "Tomorrow is Yesterday", Captain Kirk (William Shatner) refers to his organization as the United Earth Space Probe Agency. It wouldn't be until "A Taste of Armageddon" that the...

The third season of Reacher recently arrived on Prime Video, and once again trouble has found the show’s titular character. This season follows Reacher as he infiltrates the nefarious rug business of a man named Zachary Beck. Acting undercover as a man on the run, Reacher is tasked with locating a missing DEA informant while he works to uncover how his old foe Quinn is mixed up with Beck’s business.
As is the case with every season of Reacher, its cast of characters always changes. While a few characters have made various appearances here and there throughout the series, the show’s core characters each season are always different. Given Reacher prefers to travel from city to city with nothing but a toothbrush in his pocket, he always encounters a brand-new set of allies and enemies. Below is the cast of Season 3 and where viewers have seen them before.

This article contains spoilers for "Reacher" Season 3.
"Reacher" Season 3 is finally here, and with it, the towering Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) attains yet another colorful supporting cast. This time, the military police extraordinaire-turned-voluntary vagrant finds himself in Maine, where he rescues a strange young man (Johnny Berchtold) from a kidnapping attempt and ends up accidentally killing a plainclothes police officer as a result. Fortunately, the kid's father, Zachary Beck (Anthony Michael Hall), happens to be a wealthy big shot who's willing to help. Soon, Reacher finds himself semi-forcefully recruited into a strange group that seems to be doing something far shadier than its stated raison d'être of selling rugs ... or does he?
In reality, both the kidnapping and the cop's death were a ruse. Reacher and the people who set them up are in cahoots, with the protagonist working as an undercover agent for the hard-as-nails Susan Duffy. Both Reacher...

Jack Quaid is admittedly a nepo-baby - he’s found doors opening for him based on his father being Dennis Quaid and his mother being Meg Ryan. Though despite his parentage, and his honesty about his nepo-baby status, Quaid’s success is undoubtedly based on his acting prowess and natural charisma in all his on-screen roles.
Over the last thirteen years, he’s amassed quite a repertoire of roles, each of them played fantastically. As with any actor, there are bound to be dew blots in an overall successful career. Companion, the actor's latest film, looked to be one of those blots, but surprisingly, it is looking to be anything but a blemish on his career. Per Rotten Tomatoes, the film debuted with a high score of 91%.

Who will play the next James Bond? This question is one of the biggest questions surrounding action movie blockbusters right now. And while speculation and rumors continue to swirl, we at least now know one actor who will “firmly” not be playing the new 007. Ted Lasso star Phil Dunster, who is best-recognized for playing the lovable-yet-egotistical footballer Jamie Tartt in the hit sports comedy series, has revealed that a “conversation” between his agents and the James Bond producers had even taken place. But sadly, it was a firm “no.”
"There was a conversation one of my agents had, but they quite firmly shut the door in their face."
This harsh revelation from Dunster (via Daily Express), at the very least, rules out one up-and-coming British and Irish actor for the role of James Bond. As it seems that every single other even slightly familiar name is in the running. Also...

In modern-day genre filmmaking, there’s always a pinnacle for all sorts of things. For example, in folk horror, Robert Eggers’ The Witch (2015) is considered the holy grail. Similarly, when it comes to AI robot stories, Alex Garland’s Ex Machina (2013) has become quite the cult hit now. Sure, there are shows like Humans or Black Mirror (I’m specifically referring to the episode Be Right Back here), but the Garland movie is the one that has inspired many similar things afterwards. The reason I brought this up here is that the central idea of Black Eyed Susan seems to come straight from Ex Machina. Yet, it stands on its own simply because it is quite well made in every possible way—the writing is solid, the direction is good, and the acting is on point. However, what elevates the whole thing into a complete experience is the rawness it brings to the table.

Many of Studio Ghibli's movies bring viewers into a magical world full of wonder and spirits. However, not all of their anime movies follow this mentality. Some of their works feature little magic, allowing fans to find the magic in the mundane.

Paris Has Fallen boasts an impressive cast of international stars, bringing humanity to the action-packed show. The series is the latest entry in the "Has Fallen" franchise. The show builds on the tone established by the Gerald Butler-led Olympus Has Fallen. Paris Has Fallen focuses on a series of attacks carried out in the French capital by an embittered former member of the French Foreign Legion named Jacob Pearce. Struggling to prevent further bloodshed are Vincent Taleb and Zara Taylor, a bodyguard and an Mi:6 agent both operating within the city.
Paris Has Fallen has plenty of intense action, but the real draw of the series is the compelling conspiracy that Pearce seeks to expose and how it impacts the people connected to it. The stars of the show hail from across Europe, bringing a natural diversity to a story that highlights the crimes and mistakes of the recent past.

With Black Doves, The Day of the Jackal and The Agency all hitting TV screens in the space of a few weeks, premium spy shows feel in vogue.

Big Thief have shared a remastered reissue of their 2016 debut album Masterpiece, out now via 4Ad.
When Big Thief released Masterpiece in 2016, they seemingly became indie rock royalty overnight. The Brooklyn-based band recorded the album in July 2015 at a makeshift studio in an old lakehouse with producer Andrew Sarlo and engineer James Krivchenia, the latter of whom would go on to become Big Thief’s full-time drummer.
Though its title could be used to describe the quality of the record itself, vocalist Adrianne Lenker says Masterpiece refers to “the masterpiece of existence, which is always folding into itself, people attempting to connect, to both shake themselves awake and to shake off the numbness of certain points in their life. The interpretations might be impressionistic or surrealistic, but they’re grounded in simple things.”
In additional Big Thief news, the band has also unveiled an official karaoke YouTube channel so that...

Unveiling a raft of international shows at Mipcom, Newen Connect’s managing director Rodolphe Buet said the distribution arm of the TF1-owned company is seeing its business model go through “drastic changes” as it now plays a more central role in financing content.
In the next two years, Buet said roughly 70% of Newen Connect’s revenues will stem from content it pre-finances and/or co-produces, rather than licensing deals.
“We use to be gap deficit-ers, bringing minimum guarantees against rights for international. We’re now at the center of the equation, co-producing or co-financing to speed up the process of production,” said Buet, citing collaborations with in-house and third-party producers, alongside ongoing partnerships with TF1, Sweden’s TV4 and CMore, Germany’s Zdf and Amazon, among others.

The Witcher season 3 recast Rience, making it hard not to wonder why the show replaced the previous actor who played him in season 2. Rience took the job, and as a result, his entire The Witcher season 2 arc revolved around his pursuit of finding the princess.
During his journey in The Witcher season 2, he kidnaps Jaskier and even tortures him to make him disclose Geralt and Ciri's whereabouts. Fortunately for Jaskier, Yennefer comes to his rescue in The Witcher season 2 and counters Rience's fire attack by spitting alcohol on him. The Scout Regiment is known as "the hope of humanity", although most people consider them to be freeloaders.

Eren and most of his friends belong to the Scouts — including Mikasa, Armin, Jean, Connie, Historia, among others. The Scout Regiment has been involved in numerous battles and skirmishes throughout the series. As such, different people are naturally going to have a different kill count, especially if both Titan and human kills are counted.

At Esperanto, Rawlings oversaw a slate of projects with Sarah Solemani, Jack Thorne and Charlize Theron and served as executive producer on “The Shepherd,” one in a series of films financed by Disney, directed by Iain Softley and starring John Travolta. When Croatian-born TV exec Sanja Božić-Ljubičić set out to establish a television market in her corner of the world a decade ago, she had always felt the Balkan region had been overlooked on the global content map.
“The Balkan region was always somewhat neglected,” she tells Deadline. “But Croatia always seemed like a romantic little resort” which she thought would be an “ideal location for a boutique event” for top global executives.
Indeed, the romantic and picturesque country, which lies entirely on the Adriatic Sea and was the first of the former Yugoslavia countries to join the European Union, is a beautiful setting. But crucially, says Božić-Ljubičić, who also runs local pay-tv and SVoD service Pickbox as well as media service provider Mediatranslations, she felt she was well-placed to create something that would align foreign industry professionals with local talent.

Written and directed by Nida Manzoor, who created the under-the-radar but excellent Peacock series We Are Lady Parts, Polite Society boasts a stellar cast. The film premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival and follows Ria Khan in her efforts to become a stuntwoman before attempting to save her sister from her upcoming nuptials.
Polite Society received rave reviews from critics, and currently has a 93% score on Rotten Tomatoes from 60 reviews. The film, an action comedy that subverts genre and situational tropes, is Manzoor’s feature directorial debut, and shows off her talents as a filmmaker with a sense of creativity and liveliness that is often missing in feature debuts. The writer-director assembled a stunning cast for Polite Society, including a Marvel star and a scene-stealing actress from The Umbrella Academy. Led by a relative newcomer with boisterous energy, the comedy has a well-rounded cast that leans into the wildly fun plot of the film,...
