The film was launched as " Valmiki Ki Bandook". Then the movie's title was changed to "Bul Bul Bandook" due to several controversies. The film was then shelved and not released for unknown reasons. Finally the film's title was changed to "Phamous" and released in 2018.
The film did not have a theatrical release in British Columbia Canada.
