Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Juno Temple is entering the “Ted Lasso” episode “We’ll Never Have Paris” as her 2023 Emmy Award submission for Best Comedy Supporting Actress. The episode aired on May 3 and is the eighth episode of the third season of the Apple TV+ comedy.
In this installment, after a sex tape made by Keeley (Temple) is leaked online, Jack (Jodi Balfour) drafts a formal apology for Keeley to make. When Keeley refuses to be slut-shamed and apologize for something that wasn’t her fault, Jack tells her she should’ve never made the video in the first place and leaves, ending their relationship. Jamie (Phil Dunster), who had received the video when they were dating, then visits Keeley to apologize for not deleting the video.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers through Ted Lasso Season 3, Episode 8, “We’ll Never Have Paris.”] Ted Lasso introduced a new couple in Season 3 as Keeley (Juno Temple) got close to boss, Jack (Jodi Balfour), but things took a turn in Episode 8 after a private video of Keeley leaked online. Part of a mass hacking, a private video Keeley sent to Jamie (Phil Dunster) when they were together was released, making her the topic of news articles condemning the sexual nature of it all. Needless to say, the event put an obvious wedge between Keeley and Jack, with the latter not claiming Keeley as her girlfriend in front of acquaintances and canceling public engagements out of embarrassment. By the end of the episode, Jack and Keeley don’t see eye-to-eye about the video. While Keeley is upset it went public, she isn’t ashamed for making it, whereas Jack tries forcing her to put a statement out to say otherwise. ...

[This story contains spoilers for Ted Lasso season three, episode eight: “We’ll Never Have Paris.”]
The eighth episode of Ted Lasso’s third season (and potentially its final season, depending on who you ask) sees several characters stuck inside of sad songs. And while it gets better for most of them, it doesn’t end so happily for everybody.
In “We’ll Never Have Paris,” written by Keeley Hazell and Dylan Marron, three romantic relationships shift through three very different phases. There’s new love in the form of Nate (Nick Mohammed) and Jade (Edyta Budnik). So new that “love” might even be too strong a word for it, but “boyfriend” is the exact right word as Jade makes her feelings for Nate plainly clear. There’s the potential for some restored love in the form of Ted (Jason Sudeikis) and his ex-wife Michelle (Andrea Anders), who comes to London with her son Henry (Gus Turner) and new boyfriend Dr. Jake...

[Editor’s Note: This post contains spoilers for Ted Lasso Episode 8, “We’ll Never Have Paris.”]
Things took a sharp turn at the end of Ted Lasso’s sophomore season when Nate (Nick Mohammed) left AFC Richmond to coach for West Ham United, a rival club led by Rebecca’s (Hannah Waddingham) villainous ex-husband.
It wasn’t a quiet departure either, as Season 2 saw Nate struggle with his anger and self-loathing, taking it out on his colleagues and most notably, Ted (Jason Sudeikis), when he didn’t live up to the impossible pedestal of acting as Nate’s surrogate father figure. Season 3 has been planting the seeds for Nate’s inevitable redemption. But with only four episodes left (potentially of the entire show), Ted Lasso needs to put much more work into ensuring that Nate’s arc can receive proper closure.

New on DVD & BluRay this week are three films which awards season completists will need to see...
Mr Holmes in which 76 year-old spry Sir Ian McKellen is aged up to play the world's most famous detective at 93 years of age as he mind begins to deteriorate. Mr Holmes was a leggy arthouse hit this summer but can that be converted into an awards run for Sir Ian? We shall see... Tangerine, one of the year's best films, follows Sin-Dee (Kitana Kiki Rodriguez) & Alexandra (Mya Taylor), best friends & hookers, as they search for Sin-Dee's boyfriend/pimp (James Ransone) who cheated on her "with real fish!" during her latest prison stint. It's the most unexpected and awesome Christmas comedy ever. It's already snagged multiple Gotham nominations but pray for Golden Globe, Bfca, Spirit nominations and top ten lists because this Sean Baker gem deserves them. Trainwreck, or The Coronation of Amy Schumer as 2015's It Girl.

A dimwitted fantasy designed for the types of nerds found on his hit CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory, Simon Helberg's We'll Never Have Paris details the efforts of hypochondriac dweeb Quinn (Helberg) to figure out which of his numerous sexual partners he'd most like to keep around. Will it be longtime girlfriend Devon (Melanie Lynskey), who finds his made-up ailments and refusal to play piano in public endearing? Or how about co-worker Kelsey (Maggie Grace), the former model who unbelievably can't resist his nebbish charm? Or maybe it's just that random blonde who, upon seeing on their first date that Quinn is wanted by multiple women, immediately sleeps with him? Co-directed by Helberg and his wife, Jocelyn Towne, this dreary indie imagines a magical univ...

You can't see 'em all, and last spring at SXSW, the rom-com "We'll Never Have Paris" just couldn't fit in our schedule. And even though it played a handful of festivals since, it just didn't cross our path. And so, we'll just have to catch it when it opens in theaters next month, and the trailer for the movie has dropped to show what we've been missing. Written, co-directed and starring Simon Helberg, the movie follows a man whose indecision about marrying the first woman he's ever been with has serious consequences when she ups and leaves for Paris. And so he follows her there hoping to win her back. It's a simple enough premise, and we always love Melanie Lynskey, and the supporting players in place are solid too with Maggie Grace, Zachary Quinto and Alfred Molina rounding things out. "We'll Never Have Paris" arrives on January 22nd. Watch below.

★★☆☆☆Best known as the one of the lovable nerds around which CBS's world-dominating The Big Bang Theory revolves, Simon Helberg has now moved behind the camera for his cinematic directorial debut alongside his wife Jocelyn Towne. Inspired by their own romantic history, We'll Never Have Paris (2014) - which he also wrote - stars Helberg as a man suffering a relationship crisis just as he's plucked up the courage to pop the big question. Premièring in the UK at the Edinburgh Film Festival, We'll Never Have Paris wears Woody Allen's heart firmly on its sleeve, yet never quite scales the heights of the works it so desperately attempts to reference and emulate.

Genre filmmaker Robert Rodriguez's El Rey Network announced today that Alfred Molina (The Da Vinci Code, Spider Man 2) has been cast as Andres Galan in the network's upcoming scripted original set to premiere July 2014. Previously announced cast members include Gabriel Luna, Nicky Whelan and Neil Hopkins.
Created by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, and produced in association with K/O Paper Products, the coveted writing/producing team behind Sleepy Hollow, Fringe , Star Trek and the Transformer franchise, Matador will feature Molina as Andrew Galan, a man who built his fortune in the telecom industry, but his true passion is soccer. As owner of the ascendant La Riot franchise, he is celebrated in both the sports and business worlds. But there is another world that he operates in -- as a member of an elite group of powerful global players, ruthless individuals who can effect world events on a scale that one would never imagine. What Galan doesn't know is that there is a mole in his midst. One of his new players, Tony Bravo, is actually an undercover operative, sent in to expose him and his cohorts. As Tony and Galan grow closer, the fate of their relationship may very well determine the fate of the world.
Irreverent and action-packed, Matador chronicles the unlikely rise of Antonio "Matador" Bravo, a popular soccer star, who comes to be known as much for his playboy antics off the field as his dynamic moves on it. But what his fans and family don't realize is that it's all a cover--in truth, he is a skilled covert operative executing missions for a little known branch of the CIA. “Matador” has the kind of fame and notoriety that affords him access to powerful circles of corruption and villainy. But, in balancing the dueling roles in which he's been cast, he will be forced to confront the question of his true identity...and it is this mission which will prove to be his most dangerous.
Robert Rodriguez, El Rey Network's chairman and founder, is set to direct the first episode which will be penned by showrunners, co-creators and executive producers Jay Beattie and Dan Dworkin

Wesley (The Vampire Diaries) plays Gideon, a character entangled in Richie’s rocky life.

Helberg, who stars as Howard on CBS’ hit sitcom The Big Bang Theory, wrote the rom-com about his own courtship with his wife. The fictionalized reality is about a man, Quinn (Helberg), who struggles to propose to his longtime girlfriend, Devon (Lynskey), after Kelsey (Grace) professes her love to him. Quinn leaves Devon for Kelsey, immediately regretting his decision and has to win her back.

Three of the most anticipated SXSW films mark three directors’ feature film debuts, The Mend, Before I Disappear and We’ll Never Have Paris.
The Mend
The Mend, from director John Magary is featured in the Narrative Feature Competition. Only eight films were selected to premiere at SXSW, out of 1,324 submissions.
“One night in Harlem, sour, aging Mat reunites with his younger brother Alan, just before Alan heads out for a long-planned vacation with his live-in girlfriend Farrah. Only days later, much sooner than expected, Alan returns home from his vacation to find his apartment commandeered by Mat, Mat’s girlfriend and Mat’s girlfriend’s son. As doors slam and the power gives out and the threads of family fray, a mystery lingers: why has Alan returned home without Farrah,” reads the official description.

South by Southwest 2014 kicks off this week with a terrific slate of indie comedies and dramas (here are our ten most anticipated films of the fest). We've got the first look at one of them: "We'll Never Have Paris," from directors Jocelyn Towne and Simon Helberg (who wrote the film). The film stars Helberg -- who also stars in TV's "The Big Bang Theory," if you're into that -- as Quinn, a neurotic mess of a man in a quarter-life crisis that explodes when a coworker (Maggie Grace) confesses her love for him mere moments before he was to propose to his girlfriend (Melanie Lynskey). And so, Quinn up-and-leaves his longtime partner for a brush with love -- regretting his decision almost instantly. Helberg's directorial debut also stars Zachary Quinto, Alfred Molina and Jason Ritter. Check out the poster debut below.

Simon Helberg has sold the international rights for his upcoming directorial debut film.
The Big Bang Theory star's comedy We'll Never Have Paris has been acquired by Oliver Simon and Daniel Baur's K5 International.
The movie centres around Quinn Berman (Helberg), who has an early midlife crisis after his co-worker (Maggie Grace) confesses her love for him, moments before he proposes to his girlfriend Devon (Melanie Lynskey).
Devon soon leaves him and flies to Paris, before Quinn quickly follows her, only to find that she has started dating a French violinist.
Helberg also wrote the script for the project, which was co-directed by Jocelyn Towne.
Zachary Quinto, Alfred Molina and Jason Ritter will also star in the comedy.
"Jocelyn and I have attempted to tell a story about the complete and utter destruction of our relationship," Helberg said in a statement.
