These two Pure Taboo scenes have something in common: truly incompetent screenplays by Lapis Afterglow.
Title scene is a timely look at the growing problem of AI facilitating deep fakes in the media. Instead of dealing with the issue constructively, it's just another gimmick to generate a stupid sex scene.
Ziggy Star, proving less than talented in trying to sell a crying scene, tells the heroine Kyler Quinn that videos circulating on people's phones showing her having sex are fake. Kyler sympathizes with her friend's plight and deduces that the only kid in their classes at school capable of doing this is computer nerd Alex Jett. Confronting him, he confesses but is unapologetic, as he is just getting back at girls who made fun of him so he thinks they deserve it.
At this point the show's writing drops off a cliff and the scene makes no sense. Kyler cannot talk this guy into turning over a new leaf, so instead she offers to have sex with him if he will delete all the fake videos and stop it. Since he has no friends let alone girlfriends he jumps at the chance: cue the very lengthy sex scene in which Kyler enjoys herself. But afterward she's mean to him and the stupid vignette just ends with him begrudgingly living up to his half of the bargain.
In "It's Better to Be Sure", despite Ryan Driller's acting ability, this Pure Taboo story is ridiculous. It goes to ridiculous lengths, courtesy of untalented writer Lapis Afterglow, to try to justify an absurd story element, and the result is silly -not erotic.
Setup posits that Ryan as dad is completely tolerant of his daughter Phoenix Askani's choices, so when she is distraught that she was disinvited from a sleepover with her friends from school when the host girl's parent found out she was a lesbian, he suggests she schedule a sleepover of her own with her girlfriend Brooklyn Gray. What a great guy!
As the two girls lie asleep in Phoenix's bed, Ryan peeks in at them during the night, and evidently he's up to something, not the "perfect parent" we were led to believe.
At this point the pre-sex portion of the program becomes tedious and 100% unbelievable, as Ryan has a late night conversation with Brooklyn when she wanders from the bedroom, and attempts to convince her that she's young and experimenting and that she shouldn't just assume she's a lesbian because of her attraction to women, like his daughter. Why not take a spin in the sack with a real man, say... him? This nonsense convinces her, as per the scene's title to give him a whirl and of course Brooklyn, who has never had sex with a boy, is porno-proficient as a sex worker to deep throat him and be impiressoive right through his giving her a creampie. The scene ends stupidly -a total waste of time.
