I just finished watching this (barely, as the middle portion of the film is the most cringe-inducing content I've endured in years).
Completely disappointed at how the director managed to turn such an interesting and thought-provoking premise into a film that's so inconsistent and cliche-ridden at best, and AI-generated slop at worst.
The movie has three irredeemable flaws:
- The plot mixes up two completely different concepts (smartphone addiction and lack of work-life balance). Even though they may be related, the main plot driver is the second yet all the action (and the cringe) is focused on the first.
- the lead actor has no grace, wit or guile, which being Argentinean is a major disappointment. The rest of the cast isn't much better either.
- the script is filled with clicheés and logical missteps, in classic Netflix disposable content fashion. Zero conflict or surprises, nothing interesting to look forward to.
