Although news of his exit from “General Hospital” was first announced in December, with his character being killed off after being injected with digitalis by Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober), actor Evan Hofer has now officially exited the daytime drama series with his name removed from the show’s contract cast list as shown at the end of the Friday, February 28 episode.
The change in status comes as Hofer continued appearing on the series, often in flashbacks and mourning scenes involving Dex’s girlfriend, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), despite remaining a corpse. He most recently appeared in a flashback where Cyrus removed Dex’s hospital band while his body was in the General Hospital morgue.
Making his daytime debut in the soap opera’s May 6, 2022 episode, Hofer’s name had appeared on the contract list between cast members Josh Kelly (Cody Bell) and Jane Elliot (Tracy Quartermaine).

Brec Bassinger is expanding her genre range to the world of horror-thrillers with The Man in the White Van. Bassinger got her acting start in the world of Nickelodeon, having a recurring role in the supernatural sitcom The Haunted Hathaways and leading the comedy Bella and the Bulldogs. She would go on to find her breakthrough role in the DC TV show Stargirl, playing the titular superhero and carrying on the role in both a Titans crossover and the "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover event in the Arrowverse.
Bassinger stars in The Man in the White Van as Margaret, the older sister to Madison Wolfe's Annie who, as she gets closer to becoming 18, wants to follow in her mom's footsteps to become a prim and formal woman. This, in turn, has alienated the two sisters as they frequently find themselves at odds, particularly as Margaret begins dating a new person.

Brec Bassinger is definitely one to watch. With the premiere of Stargirl, the 20-year-old actress has taken the titular role and made it her own. The Texas native is best known for her role of unlikely quarterback Bella Dawson on Nickelodeon's Bella and the Bulldogs, though she's also had roles in a handful of other shows including The Goldbergs and The Haunted Hathaways, as well as movies like 47 Meters Down: Uncaged. Both her portrayals of Bella and Courtney Whitmore/Stargirl share the idea that the characters are taking on a role traditionally played by a man.
Stargirl is certainly a more obscure superhero than say Supergirl or Wonder Woman, but she isn't any less heroic. Bassinger expertly portrays the teenage girl who takes on a little more than she can probably handle. After all, how could she have foreseen the ties her stepdad Pat Dugan had to superhero Starman?...

And just like that, a Stargirl is born: Brec Bassinger (Nickelodeon’s Bella and the Bulldogs) has snagged the title role in the 13-episode series, which is slated to bow next year on the forthcoming DC Universe streaming service. The world of Web Series is about as diverse as it gets. From format, to genre, to production quality, they’re everywhere, and some of them take the opportunity to go for a risk.
Being un-Google-able is a risk, as is being a fairly tame show with a name like Cam Girls, but the series, which hits June 1st is surprisingly layered for something that only has 4-6 minutes to get things done.
The story revolves around Liv (Kate Bond), and the journey that leads her to becoming a Cam Girl. As she mentions in the trailer, she starts at the beginning. It’s actually a well-developed road that highlights the odd, and unforeseeable turns our lives may take. A new job, a new friend, a friend’s husband who has spy cams all over his house… the usual.
The show isn’t exactly comedic, or dramatic, and those who...

The Writers Guild of America (WGA) handed out top film honors to the screenplays of "The Grand Budapest Hotel" and "The Imitation Game" Saturday night. On the television side, "Louie" and "True Detective" were favorites, winning two prizes each. Damien Chazelle's "Whiplash" competed in the original category at the WGA Awards, while the Academy's Writers Branch, in a rare move outside of guild designation, deemed it adapted due to the fact that a scene from the feature script was the basis of a short film that screened at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. So if "The Imitation Game" is to go on to Oscar glory, it will have to compete with Chazelle's popular film for the first time this season at the Feb. 22 Academy Awards ceremony. Additionally, presumed Best Picture frontrunner "Birdman" was not eligible for WGA (making it still significant competition with "Grand Budapest" in the original category), nor was "The Theory of Everything,...

The Writers Guild of America announced the TV nominees for the 2015 WGA Awards on Thursday (December 4) morning and several new shows broke into the fields in a big way. And, of course, there were a number of big WGA Award nomination head-scratchers. Specifically, where the heck was FX's "Fargo"? The answer is below. Making perhaps the biggest splash was "Transparent," which earned three nominations and, since "Orange Is The New Black" earned two nods and "House of Cards" pick up one, that meant that Amazon Prime and Netflix are, at least for one award-giving organization, on equal footing as creators of original programming. The Jill Soloway-created "Transparent" is nominated for New Series, where it will go against "The Affair," "The Knick," "Silicon Valley" and "True Detective." "Transparent" and "Silicon Valley" are also up for Comedy Series, going against "Louie," "Veep" and "Orange Is The New Black." Lest you panic...

Ride Along isn't really a movie made for kids, but a Kevin Hart comedy with Ice Cube and "Haunted Hathaways" Benjamin Flores Jr. - well, that's enough to get us interested! KidsPickFlicks' Movie Star Movie Crix Joel Courtney (Super 8) and Katherine McNamara (Contest) say, as advertised, Ride Along is Really Funny, but for younger kids, well, it's not.
"Ice Cube and Kevin Hart make a great team in the action-packed comedy Ride Along. This bad-cop/crazy-cop duo takes on a major crime lord on the streets of Atlanta, allowing Ben (Kevin Hart) to prove that he is worthy of James' (Ice Cube) sister, Angela (Tika Sumpter). The comedy in this movie is top notch! The perfect blend of a comedy and an action film, Ride Along keeps you laughing on the edge of your seat! However, the language and subject matter of some scenes may is a bit mature for younger audiences.

The premiere of The Nut Job was, indeed, nutty with a pug, a groundhog, a rats (!), and other wildlife walking the red carpet alongside stars Will Arnett and Katherine Heigl. Kpf's Riley interviewed them all as well as our other faves on the red carpet: Katherine McNamara (Contest), Breanna Yde ("Haunted Hathaways"), Karina Smirnoff ("Dancing with the Stars") and The Nut Job director Peter Lepeniotis. Find out what the nuttiest thing Katherine Heigl and her daughter Naleigh do and who Will Arnett would take on a heist (his answer is Really Good!):
The Nut Job opens this Friday, Jan. 17. Read Kat McNamara, Joel Courtney (Super 8) and Riley's reviews of The Nut Job Here (and after you see the movie, come back to tell us what You think!).
