The Portuguese Punch-Down
One of a string of Drag Races made in Columbia early in 2023, I believe this came second and features the same gigantic mirror-festooned werk room, cool light-up stage, and awkwardly extended 12 episodes as Mexico. The similarities cease there though as this fellow South American series ended up as the strongest of the three. Strong creative contestants, strong host, strong judging and judges (particularly taken with Dudu Bertholini). Structurally it didn't suffer as badly as Mexico and really the only draw-back was the strange dark undercurrent of bullying, in-fighting and serious viciousness between the queens both on camera and behind the scenes. Very weird. That being said, Brazil was one of the few countries that was really shouting out for a Drag franchise (no offence to Belgium) and it could have done far worse than this.

Gigantic potential
The program starts slower, nervous girls and dubious editing, but gradually they begin to appear more and live the program in mastery. Very captivating and charismatic conrestants but the biggest highlight is the host Grag Queen. I'm sure a second season will bring an even bigger evolution and investments from the competitors. The Drag scene in Brazil still does not have the proper recognition and the program will greatly increase the power of Queens who still work with almost nothing to bring Excellence. Dudu Bertoline brings a very professional vision and daddy's jokes that only Brazilians understand, but it is enough to bring great moments.

loving the Brazilian way of doing drag
In terms of delivery, the queens exceeded all expectations. They dedicated themselves fully to each challenge, showing not only their artistic skills but also a fierce determination to succeed and excel. The passion and energy that each one brought to the catwalk and to the challenges were palpable, captivating the audience and judges.
The fashion challenges were a spectacle in themselves, with the queens parading stunning looks, which mixed creativity, originality and a keen understanding of contemporary trends.
The interaction between the queens was an additional aspect that made the season memorable. There were emotional and mutually supportive moments, creating an atmosphere of brotherhood and community that highlighted the importance of empathy and companionship even in fierce competition.

What a great show
Wooooowww I am amazed... The show started with such a great energy, the workroom looks absolutely fabulous, so colourful and full of carnival's references.. the judges and the host Grag Queen know exactly what they are doing, they are very coherent, spontaneous great humour and sense of critic. The first challenge were so much fun... from the beginning you already know that all of the queens are fierce and they are ready to fight for the crown. It's awesome that they brought a diverse cast, with queens from different age, backgrounds and places, I can't wait to see more of it. I'm super excited. 10/10.

a new flavor to this franchise
As Drag Race España, the brazilian version of the franchise bring to the audiencia a new flavor of how drag could be made. To the ones who only knows the american spiceless recipie the show could be a little stranger, but if take time to relish, the brazilian queens will bring you a new way to see thei art form.
With a lot of heart and passion, this cast will make you cry and laugh at same time but withouy the old storytelling that RuVersion brougth to us for all this time. Their experiencies are unique and completely shows how Brazil has a different kind of drag and another social reallity whom make the experience completly different. The queens brings humor, heart, ritm and love for their art and their strougles.
Of course we have some issues with the edit, but is the first season and things could be improved for the next seasons.
It's a great season so far!

Best of the Best
Is not easy to be drag em Brazil! So some people say that's the worst franchise, but you know, is not true! You can know the different queens of the world and here is the only that have the diringdonnn bebê!
Grag is the Queen of the universe! Respect please!
Hellena, Organzza, Naza, Miranda, Dallas, Shannon, Rubi, Diva, Tristan, Betina, Melusine and Aquarela you are wonderful and powerful!
We want more and more seasons to know other Drags in this tropical country!
If you allow yourself to know queens that have a dream to expending your art to the world, this is the season!
Some episodes are hilarious!

Honestly... This franchise is really bad.
I started thinking that I would have fun, knowing that Brazilians are happy and creative, and the drag scene there is very strong and with a lot of dancing. Etc..
But the reality is very different from the expectation.
The production made some super boring challenges.
The half queens are very bad.
You'll be shocked like me, because the queens couldn't do ONE good lip sync, they're ALL bad.
I don't know if it's a casting problem, but the drag scene in Brazil is known for dancing, where's that in the season?
This left me super disappointed.
And we also have that hoost, queen of the universe, who whenever she speaks, it seems like she is teaching a text.
And the judges, simply non-existent, don't make the slightest difference, dull, and without constructive criticism.

It's a different experience, like Drag Race Italy and Drag Race Mexico season 1. You have to be prepared if you want to watch more than one episode.
You have to be prepared if you want to watch more than one episode.
The production is not the best.
The judges are very weak, perhaps the weakest of all the franchises, especially the woman Bruna, who claims to be a comedian, but is not funny at all.
The host isn't the worst, but she's very robotic, it seems like she's always reading a script.
The queens, half are talented, the other half are mediocre to the point of not trying to do a decent lip sync.
In short; It's a weak season, if they changed the host, the production and the judges where changed it could be saved for a season 2. But yeah not the best.
