*full disclosure: an online screener of this film was provided by an anonymous source. Direct: Jared Cohn. Writer: Paul Logan. Cast: Paul Logan, Bill Moseley, Vernon Wells and Costas Mandylor. From the director of Bikini Spring Break (2012) and Hulk Blood Tapes (2015) comes Jared Cohn's The Horde. The screenplay, via first time scriptwriter Paul Logan, is steeped in action and horror elements. Set for a coming-soon release through Video-on-demand, The Horde is a blend of other cannibals films, from the past. The film is also heavily focused on martial arts action elements. Meanwhile, one's gag reflex might be provoked by all of the limb and tongue cutting. The Horde is one horrifying camping and photography adventure gone very awry. The Horde is reminiscent of a number of other films. This film viewer was most reminded of The Hills Have Eyes II (2007) as the military confronts a family of inbreeding cannibals.

It's supernatural send up for the newest horror comedy project from 'Scary Movie' co-creator Marlon Wayans and the new red band trailer has arrived ready to parody the likes of 'Paranormal Activity', 'The Devil Inside' and other such 'found footage' based horror flicks in recent memory. Wayans leads the Michael Tiddes helmed flick whilst Essence Atkins ('Dance Flick'), Cedric the Entertainer, David Koechner ('Final Destination 5'), Nick Swardson, Dave Sheridan ('Scary Movie'), Affion Crocket, Liana Mendoza and Jamie Noel ('Bikini Spring Break') all co-star. Check out the new trailer below....

The first official one-sheet for Marlon Wayan's ('Scary Movie') latest horror send up 'A Haunted House' has landed. The poster is notably familiar to the style of Wayan's previous parody efforts such as the 'Scary Movie' series and uses similar floating heads and practically an identical font. Let's hope the movie itself can offer at least a little more originality in a somewhat crowded and achingly thinning genre. Wayans stars alongside Essence Atkins ('Dance Flick'), Cedric the Entertainer, David Koechner ('Final Destination 5'), Nick Swardson, Dave Sheridan ('Scary Movie'), Liana Mendoza and Jamie Noel ('Bikini Spring Break'). Check out the poster below, courtesy of Open Road Films, and make sure you catch it when it hits theatres from 11 January....

While I’m not holding out a single ounce of hope that director Jared Cohn‘s follow-up to Bikini Spring Break will be worth a watch, the horror film does break some new ground. While marketers for many films, especially in this genre, utilize Twitter hashtags (#Hates for the upcoming House and the End of the Street or even accounts like Paramount’s @TweetYourScream), the folks over at The Asylum have actually made the title of their next film a hashtag itself.
#HoldYourBreath features 30 Rock‘s Katrina Bowden (who made fun of this very genre in Tucker and Dale vs. Evil) and follows a group of dumb young adults who go on a camping trip and horror ensues. It looks laughably bad and you’re better off just renting The Cabin in the Woods by the time this one is released, but I suppose it will be interesting to track...

30 Rock’s brilliant Katrina Bowden has been using her off-seasons in recent years brilliantly, starring in instant-cult-classic horror-comedy Tucker and Dale vs. Evil back in 2010 alongside Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine.
She was seen earlier this year in Piranha 3Dd, and has two more horror films on the horizon – Nurse 3-D and #HoldYourBreath. The first trailer for the second has now debuted over at Apple, giving us a good look at Bowden in the lead as part of the horror ensemble.
“Based on the urban myth that you can breathe in evil spirits when passing cemeteries, #Holdyourbreath follows seven friends embarking on a weekend camping trip who pass a run-down cemetery and find themselves arguing about the legitimacy of the urban myth. When one friend refuses to hold his breath while passing by, he finds himself the unwitting host to a notorious serial killer who jumps from body to body...
