This season, we had Eddie Cibrian (The Playboy Club), Jason O’Mara (Terra Nova), Hank Azaria (Free Agents), Kevin Dillon (How to Be a Gentleman), Mather Zickel (Man Up!), and Amaury Nolasco (Work It).
It didn’t work out too well for those guys, did it?
Fortunately, the failures of yesterday don’t seem to be quashing hopes for the (potential) successes of tomorrow. An excellent crop of new (and familiar) male stars are hoping to follow in the footsteps of Jim Caviezel (who’s truly nailed it on Person of Interest this season) and Henry Czerny (the very underappreciated...

For most of his career, actor-writer-comedian Larry Wilmore has been known more for every other part of his multi-hyphenate than the “acting.” But he’s been getting a lot more camera time since his role as The Daily Show’s “Senior Black Correspondent” made him a familiar face, and now he’s set to co-star in a comedy pilot that Rob McElhenney (It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia), Rob Rosell (an It’s Always Sunny producer/writer and co-creator of the new animated series Unsupervised), and Dan Dunn are developing for Fox. The show, Living Loaded, takes its title from ...

Former "Felicity" star Scott Speedman is set for his first TV role since The WB series ended in 2002. He'll star opposite Andre Braugher in ABC's drama pilot "The Last Resort."
The show, created by Karl Gajdusek ("Dead Like Me") and Shawn Ryan ("The Shield," "The Chicago Code"), follows the crew of a nuclear sub that goes rogue after disregarding a suspicious-sounding order. The crew docks on a small island, takes over a Nato outpost and declares itself an independent nation (with nuclear capabilities).
Speedman will play the sub's executive officer, Deadline reports. The show has also cast Camille de Pazzis as a scientist at the Nato station (Braugher is playing the captain of the sub). Speedman has concentrated on movies since "Felicity" ended, appearing in the first two "Underworld" movies and "The Strangers"; he currently co-stars in "The Vow."
Other pilot casting news, as reported by Deadline:

Fox has given the green light to Like Father, a single-camera family comedy written, directed and executive produced by Scrubs creator and Cougar Town co-creator Bill Lawrence. Inspired by Lawrence’s real-life experiences, it centers on a father-son relationship. This marks the first pilot script Lawrence has written solo since Scrubs and the first pilot pickup for his Doozer banner since the company moved from ABC Studios to Warner Bros. TV in June. Lawrence is executive producing Like Father with his development executive Jeff Ingold. Like Father reunites Lawrence with Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly, who was in the same position at NBC for some of Scrubs‘ run on the network.
