- TriviaOn March 7, 1974, 104 days after Marjorie Wallace was crowned, Contest officials announced that she "had failed to fulfill the basic requirements of the job" and took away her title. First runner-up, Evangeline Pascual of the Philippines, was offered the opportunity to fulfil the duties but she declined as she was doing a movie at that time. The second runner-up, Patricia Yuen of Jamaica, accepted the offer to complete the Miss World term without being officially crowned.
