The episodes with Steve are usually chaotic fun. The one with the underage girls - hilarious! The one about Atlantic City - ugh pushing the limits of what the audience will accept but I gotta admire the audacity.
But they pushed it too far this time, and not because it was too audacious, just too...stupid I guess. It's like an attempt to mimic Atlanta, which always managed to pull off their Twilight Zone weirdness, by adhering to a degree of emotional believability.
In this episode, the Lord of the Ring/furry people were just too weird to believe. I'm not sure what would have salvaged it. Steve's weirdly vacant gorgeous girlfriend was just there, not funny or unfunny.
