In the beginning of the movie a boy is trying to go to bed. A woman enters the room and blows out the candles on the floor. The boy ask her to leave one candle lit. So she blows one candle out. In the next shot, both candles are still lit while in a later shot of that same room, one candle is blown out again.
In the beginning sequence (Cambodia 1979), the subtitles translate a mother talking to her son as, "I know your awake." It should be, "I know you're awake."
The story takes place in eastern Kentucky, yet the radio station call letters begin with a "K." That's only for stations west of the Mississippi River, like in Louisiana, where the movie was filmed.
