If the lack of steamy sex scenes in "Bridgerton" season two left you parched, Joe Talbot's new A24 movie, "The Governesses," is here to quench your thirst. The movie, which is Talbot's sophomore film after 2019's "The Last Black Man in San Francisco", will star "Wolf's" Lily-Rose Depp, "Squid Game's" HoYeon," and "The Worst Person in the World's" Renate Reinsve as three French nannies who decide to let loose and explore their sexualities.

The announcement comes shortly after the independent entertainment company released its upcoming horror film, "X," in March and shared details for an intended prequel film, "Pearl." On March 23, the company also released the trailer for "Men," another horror flick set in the English countryside. With so many dark projects in the works, A24's "The Governesses" sounds like the perfect palate cleanser.

Neon has picked up U.S. rights to hot Cannes title “The Worst Person in the World,” directed by Norwegian writer-director Joachim Trier, from French sales agent mk2 Films.

The romantic comedy, which is playing in competition, rounds out Trier’s Oslo Trilogy, which began with “Reprise” in 2006 and continued with “Oslo, August 31st” in 2011.

The script was co-written by Trier with regular collaborator Eskil Vogt, and the film stars Renate Reinsve, Anders Danielsen Lie, Herbert Nordrum, Hans Olav Brenner, Helene Bjøreby, and Vidar Sandem.

“The Worst Person in The World” tells the story of a quest for love and meaning in contemporary Oslo. It chronicles four years in the life of Julie (Reinsve), a young woman who navigates the troubled waters of her love life and struggles to find her career path, leading her to take a realistic look at who she really is.

Director Joachim Trier has developed quite a relationship with the Cannes Film Festival over the years. One filmmaker who's a favorite around these parts is Norwegian Joachim Trier. The writer/director's first two features "Reprise" and "Oslo, August 31st" are impressive and expressive works, and so when it was announced well over a year ago that his next effort would be his English-language debut, we were very excited. In fact, this script was ready to go after "Reprise," but delays held it up, so Trier shot 'Oslo' instead. But it appears the wait has been worth it as he's assembled a solid trio to lead the movie. The Sundance 2012 program will now feature 117 films, including 91 world premieres.
