At the beginning of the movie, Boyd makes a recording in a booth alone. But when he plays the record for his family, his voice is accompanied by a piano.

Edwin and Dorreen are shown as having a boy and a girl who have several years' difference between them. The pair actually had twins during the war. Also, Dorreen's third child was conceived long before Edwin formed the Boyd Gang.

It's implied that Lennie Jackson and Willie Jackson (no relation) knew each other before meeting with Edwin Boyd. However, Willie only joined them after Lennie and Edwin had made their acquaintance.

Before joining the Boyd Gang, Edwin Boyd is portrayed as working alone during bank heists. However, he worked with a partner named Howard Gault, who ended up snitching on Edwin in real life, which led to his first arrest.

Edwin Boyd's brother, despite being arrested with Boyd after taking him in while he was on the run, is omitted from the movie.

Real-life Boyd gang member Valent Lesso (aka Steve Suchan) was re-named Val Kozak in the movie.

After his release from prison and his arrival at Doreen's home, the car that Eddie gets out of has a modern 4 letter 3 digit Ontario license plate. This type of license plate did not exist until decades after the time line depicted in the film.

In a scene set in 1950 Edwin and his wife watch a newsreel projected in a wide-screen format that wasn't introduced until 1953.

Most cigarettes smoked in the movie feature a filter. The film takes place around 1950, while the "Winston", the first filter cigarette introduced in Northern America, has not been available until 1954.
