As this episode opens a goldsmith interrupts a burglar who is trying to access his safe; when threatened he gives the combination but then suffers a fatal heart attack. A month later a man is found dead in woodland; he has clearly been murdered. Meanwhile Josef, a member of Beck's team, attends a school reunion and reconnects with old friends, two sisters, Cissi and Åsa Karlsson, who happen to be the daughters of the goldsmith. He gets involved with Cissi, who tells him the police closed her father's case as he died from a heart attack. He looks into the case and finds a suspect. As the number of death's rises he is cautioned that he is too close to people involved in the case but can't bring himself to fully step away from the investigation.
I thought this was a solid episode; it was nice to have a story centred on team member Josef rather than one of the more senior members. The story provided some good twists... although as a previous reviewer commented the fact that we were shown somebody holding a revolver followed by the discovery of 9mm ammunition, which won't work in that pistol, will lead those who know a little about firearms to assume they can't be connected! There are some good tense scenes; and one or two impressively shocking moments. The acting is solid is solid throughout; in particular Martin Wallström and Malin Mases Arvidsson as Josef and Cissi. Overall a TV solid murder mystery that fans of the genre should enjoy.
