Two weeks after announcing a handful 2025 summer tour dates, Goose have returned with news of their fourth studio album, Everything Must Go, due on April 25th. Along with the announcement, they’ve expanded their summer tour itinerary and shared a new song, “Give It Time.”

Everything Must Go is the Connecticut-based jam band’s first album since 2022’s Dripfield. Produced by D. James Goodwin, the new album centers on a “carnivalesque” cast of characters and features Goose expanding the boundaries of their sound.

“These songs all come from different times and places in a way that captures a part of the journey of the band,” said the band’s Rick Mitarotonda in a statement. “It moves through time for us, but not in a tidy, linear way. Like the band, it’s okay for things to feel more like a landscape sometimes and less like a singular cohesive statement.

The death of a parent or the need to move them from the family home has been ripe fodder for filmmakers. There are certain visual basics we expect comedy specials to have: Multiple angles of the comedian to bounce between and convey energy, a few crowd shots from the stage, maybe a cheeky little intro of the comedian getting ready to walk on from backstage. But that expected structure is not necessarily how Hannah Einbinder’s comedy works and, fittingly, it’s not how the comedian’s special, “Hannah Einbinder: Everything Must Go,” looks, either.

From the stylized drive beneath lit palm trees to the El Rey Theater that opens the special (and that the Los Angeles City Tourism Department should be so lucky to use), Einbinder and director Sandy Honig wanted to craft a fully cinematic space for the special to exist in — and a visual match for the leaps from weed and Adderall to embodying the Earth, sun, and moon to friendship betrayals in the 1930s that only Einbinder...

The former NBC sitcom A.P. Bio has a robust cast full of hilarious main and supporting characters. Mike O'Brien of Saturday Night Live acclaim created the original sitcom, which first premiered on February 1, 2018. The show is centered around professor turned high-school teacher Jack Griffin, who is played by Glenn Howerton of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. A.P. Bio follows Jack as he transitions from being a philosophy professor at Harvard University to an A.P. Biology teacher at his hometown high school after falling from grace due to a YouTube video.

A.P. Bio ran for two seasons on NBC before moving to Peacock for its final two seasons. The series was canceled twice even though it maintained an impressive Rotten Tomatoes score of 88%, with its second and third seasons earning perfect 100% critic scores. Despite the positive reviews of A.P. Bio, there was not enough consistent viewership for the series to continue past four seasons.

I attended my first Toronto International Film Festival in 2006. At a midnight screening on the city’s then-Ryerson University campus, Sacha Baron Cohen showed up — on a horse — for the premiere of Borat. Twenty minutes in, the projector broke. Michael Moore climbed over seats to try to fix it. “What on earth is happening here?” I remember thinking. Cohen then got up and did 45 minutes of stand-up — in character. The projector was never fixed. No one cared.

That was my introduction to awards season. The tuxedos? The champagne glasses? The stilted debate over which British actor best inhabits the royals drama and other supposed trappings of the season? Well, Ok, they were a part of it, too. But nearly two decades later, this Borat moment is the film-festival memory that sticks with me. Warner Bros is releasing Joker: Folie A Deux on UK digital services in November, DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray in December.

The post-mortem continues where Todd Phillips’ blockbuster sequel Joker: Folie A Deux is concerned. Following mixed reviews at best, the film has tanked at the box office. Not to the point where Warner Bros will be cancelling its office party or anything, but still: the film has only just crept past $200m at the global box office, less than a fifth of the total of the (much cheaper) original film.

Unsurprisingly then, in the current climate, Warner Bros is now planning to get the film onto video on demand at speed. In the UK, it’s confirmed a release date for 4th November for its premium video on demand (read: expensive) digital release.

It’s also then announced the release date for the physical media release in the UK too.

If you're a fan of the long-running series "How I Met Your Mother," you know that pop star Britney Spears memorably pops up in the third season of the beloved CBS sitcom ... so how did that happen, and how did Spears' guest role basically save the show?

During a Reddit Ama (ask me anything) in 2013, Carter Bays, who created "How I Met Your Mother" alongside Craig Thomas, was asked if any of the show's guest stars had ever specifically asked to join the series. Apparently, Spears did just that. "We got a call a few weeks after the writers' strike [in 2007] ended saying that Britney Spears wanted to be on our show," Bays responded. "And she specifically wanted to be in the episode 'Ten Sessions,' which sent a chill down our spines, because that's the one where we meet Stella [Zinman, a love interest for Josh Radnor's Ted Mosby]."

Joker made over $1 billion at the box office in 2019, but Joker: Folie à Deux has flopped, earning a mere $192 million worldwide since opening earlier this month.

Warner Bros. has essentially given up on the sequel, hence its surprisingly early debut on Digital platforms on October 29. The movie will be available for early Premium Digital Ownership at home and for 48-hour rental via PVOD on participating digital platforms where you purchase or rent movies, including Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV, Google Play, Fandango at Home, and more.

It's also been confirmed that, starting December 17, Joker: Folie à Deux arrives on 4K Uhd, Blu-ray and DVD from online and physical retailers.

Here are the special features included in both the Digital and physical releases. They mostly sound like generic featurettes (there are no deleted scenes) but that long-form documentary is undeniably intriguing.

It seems the real folie à deux was the one we all had when we believed that the sequel to "Joker" could genuinely be a fun film, or even just a good one. Instead, "Joker: Folie à Deux" is a disaster. After Todd Phillips' "Joker" became an unexpected box office phenomenon, and a rare comic book movie to win an Oscar, "Folie à Deux" turned out to be a colossal failure, the result of many bad decisions that turned into a brutal flop that shocked the industry.

With its list of new releases for June 2024, HBO streamer Max is finally headed back to Westeros.

The highlight of this month is undoubtedly the premiere of House of the Dragon season 2 on June 16. Episode 1 will drop on both HBO and Max that Sunday night at 9 p.m. Et. With the infamous Targaryen civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons now underway, the next batch of episodes for this Game of Thrones prequel should be truly epic.

Hannah Einbinder doesn’t perform the stand-up comedy in Hacks — that falls to Jean Smart, who stars with Einbinder as veteran comic Deborah Vance — but that was her primary job before she landed the role on the Emmy-winning Max series as Ava, a struggling writer who reluctantly takes a job with Deborah and, over the course of the show’s three seasons, becomes both a confidant to the veteran comic and the object of Deborah’s most withering scorn.

Warner Bros. Discovery has announced the movies, TV shows, and live sports that will be available on the Max streaming service in June. The annual New York event will now include the world premieres of two sports documentaries: Roger Federer’s Twelve Final Days, directed by Asif Kapadia and Joe Sabia, about the 20-time Grand Slam tennis champion’s decision to retire from the sport, and Dawn Porter’s Power of the Dream, about the WNBA’s fights for fair pay, better airtime and social justice. Both docs are set to stream on Amazon’s Prime Video.

And it’s adding the North American premiere of Nanette Burstein’s Elizabeth Taylor: The Lost Tapes as well as the world premiere of Sabrina Van Tassel’s Missing From Fire Trail Road, about the efforts to find out what happened to missing Native American woman Mary Ellen Johnson-Davis, who disappeared more than two years ago from the Tulalip Indian reservation near Seattle.

The 2024 Tribeca Festival has just unveiled new additions to its already star-studded lineup.

IndieWire can confirm that the New York premiere of “A Quiet Place: Day One” will take place as part of the festival, which runs June 5 through 16. The film will have a special screening June 26 in partnership with Paramount Pictures in IMAX.

The long-gestating movie about Casablanca Records founder Neil Bogart — directed by his son Tim Bogart and now in post-production — has finally landed, and is being screened to buyers at the Cannes Film Festival market this week.

Founded in 1974 by Neil Bogart, Casablanca Records was the home to Kiss, Donna Summer, the Village People and Parliament Funkadelic, among others. The company contributed the first smash extended single to clubs and radio stations all over the world with Summer’s 17-minute 1975 banger “Love to Love You,” and released 289 albums from more than 140 artists.

“Spinning Gold” was first conceived in 1990 and has weathered many drafts, multiple castings (Justin Timberlake was at one point attached to the movie) and a decades-long search for the right director.

Lonely Planet is billed as a love story set in Morocco. Specifics with regard to its plot are being kept under wraps. Grant is also producing alongside Sarah Timberman and Liza Chasin for 3dot Productions, with VP Studio Film Kira Goldberg serving as creative lead for Netflix.

The film continues the creative partnership between Netflix and 3dot, which has thus far produced the streamer’s upcoming thriller series, Anatomy of a Scandal, based on the book by Sarah Vaughan. 3dot entered into a multi-year, first-look film deal with Netflix in 2019, with adaptations of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s bestseller The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and Diane Cardwell’s memoir Rockaway also upcoming.

Dane Morck, the co-creator of the CW series All American, has signed with Zero Gravity. He will serve as the Executive Consultant going into Season 3 of the sports drama.

Prior to All American Morck worked in the unscripted space under Vin di Bona on America’s Funniest Home Videos and was a development exec at di Bona’s production banner Fishbowl Worldwide Media. While at Fishbowl, he worked on Bravo’s Toned Up, Animal Planet’s Insane Pools: Off the Deep End as well as projects for Travel, HGTV, Nat Geo Wild, and NFL Network.

Morck and his producing partner/ex NFL player, Spencer Paysinger established Moore Street Productions in 2019. The company worked on many projects including an original sports and entertainment podcast with Lebron James’ Uninterrupted.

Exclusive: We have learned that Chris Meledandri’s animation studio Illumination has struck an overall writing deal with award-winning playwright and screenwriter Greg Kalleres.

Kalleres has a number of projects already in the works. Audiences, as we know, can’t get enough of a great bad guy — the kind we love to hate. The worse he acts, the more we stare. Of course, the fact that we relish a villain doesn’t mean that we’re on his side; getting off on the catchy, scary spectacle of bad behavior isn’t the same as identifying with it. But in “Joker,” Todd Phillips’ hypnotically perverse, ghoulishly grippingly urban-nightmare comic fantasia, Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix), the mentally ill loser-freak who will, down the line, become Batman’s nemesis, stands before us not as a grand villain but as a pathetic specimen of raw human damage. Exclusive: Amazon is developing a drama series based on The Last Mrs. Parrish, Liv Constantine’s bestselling debut novel, with Cathy Schulman’s Welle Entertainment and Jeff Gaspin’s Gaspin Media producing. Jessica Mecklenburg will pen the adaptation and executive produce.

The twisty thriller, pitched as The Hand That Rocks the Cradle meets Single White Female, sees a plain young woman striving to insert herself into high society life by usurping the Queen Bee’s fairytale life only to realize she may have gotten herself in way over her head.

The collaboration stems from Schulman and Gaspin’s work together while Gaspin was president of Primary Wave Entertainment, which backs Welle.

Shulman’s Welle Entertainment optioned rights to the book, published worldwide by HarperCollins in October 2017. It hit bestseller lists in multiple international territories and in the U.S.

Amazon Prime Video has confirmed that several original shows will be debuting new episodes on the streaming service in April, including the fifth season of the crime drama “Bosch,” the sophomore season of the comedy “The Tick” and the first edition of the children’s animated show “Bug Diaries.”

Likewise, there will be plenty of movies making their first appearances on Amazon Prime Video in April including the Oscar-nominated horror film “A Quiet Place,” a slew of films in the Bond franchise and all three entries in the “Blade” trilogy.

Amazon Prime Video has released its roster of new content coming to it April, and the list includes a new Prime Original along with new seasons of “Bosch,” “The Tick,” and “Diablo Guardián.”

The first season of “Bug Diaries,” a Prime Original animated series for preschoolers, follows Spider, Fly and Worm on their daily adventures recorded in their bug diaries. From riding on a dog’s back to dodging raindrops, the three bug buddies will appear on the streamer starting April 12.

Season 5 of “Bosch” picks up 15 months after Det. Harry Bosch caught his mother’s killer. Per the streamer’s description, new evidence in an old case leaves everyone wondering whether Bosch planted evidence to convict the wrong guy. And a murder at a Hollywood pharmacy exposes a sophisticated opioid pill mill, sending Bosch down a dark and perilous path in pursuit of the killers. It drops April 19.

Portland-born, Los Angeles-based composer and songwriter Keegan DeWitt has become one of the go-to composers for Sundance movies over the last few years; in 2018 alone, he had music in six indie films, including the documentary “Bisbee ’17,” for which he won the Ida Documentary Award for best music score.

He also wrote songs for Brett Haley’s touching and funny “Hearts Beat Loud,” starring Nick Offerman and Kiersey Clemons as a father and daughter who have unexpected success with a song they write and record together. One of those songs, the uptempo “Everything Must Go,” is the film’s entry in the Oscars’ Best Original Song category.

Joaquin Phoenix has somewhere that he urgently needs to be in these new Joker set photos, which feature a green-wigged Arthur Fleck charging down the streets of New York through a sea of curious onlookers.

We’ve lately been privy to quite a few images of the star in a clown outfit that’s notably different from his eventual Clown Prince of Crime look. Yesterday, for instance, we saw pics of Phoenix holding up a sign reading “Everything Must Go!!” while the people of Gotham City walked by indifferently, implying that this flamboyant costume is the uniform for his day job. With that in mind, these latest photos could be taken from a scene where Arthur’s late for work, though it could also be something more serious. It’s kind of hard to tell what sort of mood the guy’s in under all that make-up.

We sure are seeing a lot of clowns in this upcoming Joker movie. Even the first set video from this Todd Phillips-helmed comic book flick saw Joaquin Phoenix in a confrontation with a man in white face paint and a red nose, but in retrospect, that little clip was just an early warning for the clown army we’d soon see invading the New York subway.

It goes without saying that the movie’s title character takes on a similarly flamboyant appearance, but it looks like Arthur Fleck was finding reasons to wear flamboyant makeup and a green wig before he even became the Clown Prince of Crime. And based on the “Everything Must Go!!” sign Phoenix holds up in these new images, we can probably assume that this colorful costume was the uniform for his day job.
