Another good episode and return to our favourite world of time traveling scotts in the new world.
Last week's episode was too long a wait and referred to characters we hadn't seen in years but and this weeks one wound up character arcs in a matter of minutes.
The Arch Bug storyline was fascinating and multilayered, and his motivations were relatable and ultimately wrong. His presence in the background was threatening, menacing, and then he was gone. Young Ian hardly knew he was there, one quick showdown and it's move along time.
The same happened with Stephen Bonnet. Great scary baddie, well played and offering real menace and threat to our characters, and quite easily dispensed of.
That said we got some excellent world building details. I loved the sets and the vibe of rebels/royals sharing the same space. The look at the goodies and baddies next to each other and see the lack of clarity on each side.
The lord john arch wasn't as incongruous as it seemed last week and the resulting operation had some impact and meaning.
I didn't buy Claire getting caught for spying from dropping a note in a box, either she's really bad at looking around her or the brits are really good at stealth tech, but it wasn't sold well and it could have been.
Still very thankful to be enjoying an episode of this a week and I guess we'll be waiting to see how Jamie survives the sinking of his boat. We know he's not dead obviously. End of series otherwise.
Roger's story is interesting, and he's not annoying atm so that's a plus. It's moving a little slow though, while other stuff moved too fast.
