Toronto -- The British-Canadian animated series "Chop Socky Chooks" scooped a Gemini for best cartoon Tuesday night as Canadian television continued to honor its own.
The Cartoon Network series about a crack team of kung fu chickens from Aardman Animations and Dhx Media grabbed the spotlight as Geminis were handed out in Toronto for lifestyle, children's and youth programming.
Other winners included Epitome Pictures' teen series "Degrassi: The Next Generation" for best youth drama series and Cci Entertainment's "Ghost Trackers," which grabbed a statuette for best youth factual series.
Cookie Jar Entertainment's "Will & Dewitt," which airs on the CW4Kids programming block, earned a Gemini for best preschool series, while the best lifestyle series prize went to Red Apple Entertainment's "Chef School," a docu-soap about 12 culinary students.
