I absolutely love Dennis Kelly as a writer but what on earth actually was this? Undoubtedly, I'm still a fan of his work & will support whatever project he's involved with in the future but my undying admiration for his work won't blind me to any faults I spot within it... And sadly, here there are plenty.
To say I'm disappointed is an understatement - as I was expecting that by the end of "Winter", we'd finally be provided with some sort of explanation as to why "Summer" warranted a sequel... But after concluding the final episode, there's still no justification for its existence. You could've easily stopped watching after the 3rd installment & it wouldn't have many any difference to your viewing experience whatsoever.
Hence, despite possessing a few truly great moments of tension & some really beautifully acted scenes (notably from Naomie Harris who delivers an incredible performance as "Helen"), this series ends on a lacklustre note which feels totally unnecessary & unresolved.
