- Ken Lanning: I think that, in a sense, snuff is like the Holy Grail - much talked about, long sought after, but never found.
- Narrator: The existence of snuff movies remains one of the most enduring of urban legends. Persistent rumours of an underground industry continue to concern police around the world. So much so that the FBI have even developed their own definition of what a snuff movie is.
- Ken Lanning: The key element is, number one, it has to be a visual depiction. It could be still pictures, moving images, whatever. On this visual image, someone was alive at the beginning, and they're dead at the end. The motivation for the murder is because the script requires it. And this visual image is being put together for the sexual gratification of viewers, and people look at this to get sexually aroused. And then the final element is that this visual depiction is commercially distributed.
