This episode was watched by 12.4 million viewers on its original transmission, a rise of almost 6 million from the first episode. However, this was due to the first episode being shown just after BBC staff had ended strike action which took the channel off air for three days, and also the fact that episode 2 was shown in the week between Christmas and new year when ratings are often higher.

King Kroll...

There's an almighty beast sleeps under the lake, several tentacles writhe like an elongated snake, Calamari Kroll, may look like a doll, but he's angry and he's mean, and he's already wide awake.
